Dallas Cowboys Depth Chart 2022: Current Roster, Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Posted on August 8, 2022 by Jack Marks One part of the Cowboys’ roster having to be cut from 90 to 53 players can provide them some relief. They are not required to do that now. There are over 53 players that merit making the final cut on August 30, and there is still time to gather information before the most difficult decisions are made. Injuries will inevitably make some decisions for Dallas Cowboys easier. The intricacies of the roster game, such as the temporary release of a veteran to keep a young player off waivers, will significantly impact the final composition. Here is one very early forecast for the 53-man roster. As more football is played, more efforts will be made. The Cowboys will try to build on their 12-5 record from 2021, win a Super Bowl for the first time since 1995, and become the first team to repeat as NFC East winners since the Philadelphia Eagles did it from 2001 to 2004. La’el Collins, an offensive tackle, will not be on the roster for the first time since 2014 because he was released on March 18, 2022, and afterward signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
