- DETInjured D'Andre Swift Won't Need Offseason Surgery
Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) played most of the 2022 season with ankle and shoulder injuries, but he said he won't need offseason surgery. He plans to meet with "a couple doctors" about his injuries, but he assumes he will return to full health with rest this offseason. Swift suffered a high-ankle sprain in the season opener and then separated his left shoulder two weeks later, which made him a frustrating fantasy commodity for most of the year. He averaged a career-best 5.5 yards per carry on the year, but he missed three games and had a career-low 99 carries in total for 542 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games. But the 23-year-old finished strong the final two weeks and should be a big part of Detroit's rushing attack again in 2023. Swift should bounce back for fantasy managers with better health.

Detroit Lions defensive back Jeff Okudah (elbow) is listed as questionable for the Week 18 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. It appears the 23-year-old suffered an elbow injury during practice on Friday, which has put his status in question. The Lions will turn to Jerry Jacobs and Mike Hughes if Okudah doesn't suit up. His absence would be a significant hit considering this is a must-win game for the Lions. The former first round pick has 73 tackles, seven passes defended, and one interception in 15 games this season.

Detroit Lions running back Justin Jackson (hip) is officially out for Week 17 against the Chicago Bears. Jackson came into the game listed as questionable after picking up a hip injury in Friday's practice, and he'll end up sitting this one out. The 26-year-old has been the clear No. 3 in Detroit's backfield this year behind D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams, and he has just 168 rushing yards and a touchdown while adding 90 receiving yards and another score in 15 games played. With Jackson out in a good matchup against Chicago, it's good news for both Swift and Williams as the Lions look to keep their playoff hopes alive in the second-to-last regular season game of the 2022 campaign.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds (illness) practiced in full on Thursday. He was held out from Wednesday's session due to an illness but returned with no limits on Thursday. The 27-year-old is Detroit's WR3 behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and D.J. Chark. He has caught 10 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown over the last five weeks. Overall, Reynolds has 36 catches for 458 yards and three touchdowns over 12 games. Reynolds will be available against the Bears but remains a boom-or-bust flex option for fantasy managers in Week 17.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds (illness) missed practice on Wednesday due to an illness. It's early in the week, so as long as he gets back on the practice field in the next two days, Reynolds should have a pretty good shot at being active on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. The 27-year-old hasn't been nearly as attractive as a deep-league flex play ever since DJ Chark returned from his injury in Week 11. In five games with Chark in the lineup in the second half of the season, Reynolds has only 10 receptions on 14 targets for 101 yards and one touchdown. He wasn't even targeted in two of those games. Reynolds has a line of 36 catches, 458 yards and three touchdowns on 56 targets in 12 contests this year.

Detroit Lions safety DeShon Elliott (shoulder) exited Sunday's game against the New York Jets and is questionable to return. He racked up six tackles before exiting. Look for C.J. Moore to receive more snaps in Elliott's absence.

New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (calf) remains "a 50-50 call" for Sunday's meeting with Detroit, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 24-year-old was considered day-to-day after suffering a calf injury during the loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. With N.Y. looking to remain in the postseason picture, the team is certainly hoping he'll be on the field, especially since he's accounted for 47 total tackles and a career-high 11 sacks this season. Unfortunately, a decision on his availability likely won't happen until pre-game warmups, so IDP participants should plan accordingly.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond (illness) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. He had been listed as questionable. Raymond has amassed 32 catches for 382 yards this season. Although he's a threat in the passing game, he is currently buried behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, DJ Chark, Josh Reynolds, and Jameson Williams on the depth chart. Leave Raymond on fantasy waivers for the time being.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Dec 11, 2022, 4:49:28 PM - DETJared Goff Expected To Remain With Lions
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff was viewed as a bridge option for the team coming into the season. He was acquired in part of the Matthew Stafford trade and expected to hold the spot until the team drafts a younger quarterback. However, Goff has certainly exceeded expectations this season with over 3,000 passing yards and 19 touchdowns heading into Week 14. He has the Lions at 5-7 with four straight wins and a chance at making the postseason. It would be silly for the Lions to not consider drafting a future quarterback this offseason. Although, Goff might have done enough to prove he can legitimate handle the quarterback job in Detroit long term.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond (illness) is questionable for Sunday's divisional showdown against Minnesota. Fantasy managers had a feeling it was heading in this direction, especially since the wideout didn't practice in the two days leading up to his limited session on Friday. That said, Raymond hasn't played well this year, amassing only 32 catches for 382 yards and no touchdowns. Considering Jared Goff will have Amon-Ra St. Brown, D.J. Chark, D'Andre Swift, Josh Reynolds, and Jameson Williams available to catch passes, Raymond isn't an ideal fantasy option in Week 14 even if he suits up.
