- CLEBrowns Fire Defensive Coordinator Joe Woods
The Cleveland Browns relieved defensive coordinator Joe Woods of his duties on Monday, according to a source. The team has already requested permission to interview New England Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo for the position. Woods had been the defensive coordinator under head coach Kevin Stefanski sine 2020. Cleveland made the postseason that year for the first time since 2002, but their defense has started slow each of the last two seasons and was ranked 31st in defensive efficiency at one point in October. Cleveland's run D was their weakness, finishing second-worst in the NFL in defensive total rush expected points added at minus-23.11.

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (head) exited late in the second quarter during Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is officially listed as questionable. The 27-year-old tallied 10 rushing yards and 15 receiving yards before exiting the contest. D'Ernest Johnson should operate as Cleveland's No. 2 back until Hunt can return.

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's AFC North showdown with the Cleveland Browns. The 26-year-old missed a few practices during the week but was available in a limited capacity on Friday. Fitzpatrick is sitting on a career-high six interceptions this season, so the team would certainly love to have him out there for one last push toward a postseason berth.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has cleared concussion protocol ahead of the Week 17 matchup against the Washington Commanders. The three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher was spotted boarding the team plane. That being said, it sounds like Clowney is going to be back on the field this weekend. His presence is certainly a boost for this defensive unit. However, it's uncertain how much Clowney will play with the Browns not having much incentive to win.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (hip) is off the final injury report and will play against the Washington Commanders in Week 17. Cooper's injury designation says his limited practice was not injury related but also mentions a hip injury. Despite the contradiction, all that matters is he'll play, so fantasy managers can insert him in lineups in a mostly neutral matchup for fantasy wide receivers.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (foot) said he'll be playing in the final two games of the regular season and said there was no consideration otherwise. Chubb has been playing through a minor foot injury in recent weeks, but he's come just shy of the 100-yard mark in each of the last two games, carrying the ball 45 times for 191 yards and no touchdowns while catching one pass for 10 yards. The Browns are eliminated from postseason contention, but he will continue to serve as their workhorse running back in Weeks 17 and 18 against the Washington Commanders and Pittsburgh Steelers. Fantasy managers playing for a championship in the next two weeks need to leave him locked into their lineups as an RB1.

The Cleveland Browns and right tackle Jack Conklin agreed to a four-year, $60 million contract extension on Friday that includes $31 million fully guaranteed, according to his agents. Christmas came a little early for Conklin this year. The 28-year-old offensive lineman is now tied to the Browns through the 2026 season. He missed the first two games this year while recovering from surgery he had on his knee last December, but since returning he's been a staple on the right side of the Browns' offensive line. Conklin was originally the eighth overall pick out of Michigan State by the Tennessee Titans in 2016. The two-time All-Pro spent the first four years of his career in Tennessee and has spent the last three seasons in Cleveland.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (foot) is good to go for the Week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints on Saturday. Chubb missed the first two practice days of the week, but he was able to return to the field on Thursday, setting him up for his normal role as Cleveland's backfield leader on Christmas Eve. The RB6 in overall fantasy points in half-point PPR setups this year, Chubb is an absolute must-start in the fantasy playoffs as an RB1 at home in a game that could feature inclement weather. The Saints defense has been right around the middle of the pack in terms of half-point PPR points allowed to the running back position per game in 2022 (20.1). Lock Chubb into your lineups with confidence this weekend.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (foot) didn't practice on Wednesday. The superstar running back has missed the past two days of practice because of the injury. Yet, fantasy players shouldn't panic, as the former Georgia Bulldog still has a few days to practice before Saturday's matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Even if Chubb doesn't practice this week, that necessarily won't keep him from playing Saturday. However, he has struggled since Deshaun Watson's return, averaging only 71 rushing yards and 8.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Nonetheless, fantasy players should start Chubb, assuming he is active this week.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Dec 21, 2022, 8:03:52 PM - CLEInjured Nick Chubb Misses Practice Tuesday
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (foot) did not participate in practice on Tuesday due to a foot injury. It's not what fantasy managers want to hear in the middle of the fantasy postseason. He a season-high 70 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 15 win over the Baltimore Ravens and had 20-plus carries for the fifth time in 2022, so perhaps his foot injury isn't all that serious. We'll know more later this week, and Chubb still has two more days to return to practice. If the 26-year-old is active, he's a must-start, high-end RB1 as the RB6 in overall points in half-point PPR scoring. If Chubb's foot injury keeps him out this Saturday against the New Orleans Saints, Kareem Hunt would likely operate as the lead back and would be a plug-and-play RB2. We'll keep a close eye on Chubb's status the rest of the week.
