- NODennis Allen To Remain Saints Head Coach
New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen will return for the 2023 season, general manager Mickey Loomis announced on Friday. This had been the expectation all along, even with former head coach Sean Payton showing an interest in returning to the coaching ranks next season. Other changes could be made to the coaching staff, but Allen will return for his second season at the helm after leading the team to a 7-10 record in his first year. New Orleans' defense was in the top 10 in points and yards allowed, but their offense really struggled with veteran Andy Dalton under center for most of the year and with top wideout Michael Thomas (toe) hurt yet again.

New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill (back) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. He had been listed as questionable after being limited in practice this past week. Hill has been a key offensive weapon for the Saints, totaling 247 scrimmage yards and four touchdowns over his last five games. He should be viewed as a low-end TE1 for the final week of the regular season.

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (quad) is active for the Week 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. He was limited in practice towards the end of the week, but appears good to go on Sunday. He'll look to close out his breakout season on a good note in this favorable matchup. Johnson has finished with at least 40 receiving yards in eight games this season. He should be considered a borderline TE1 for this Week 18 matchup.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Jan 8, 2023, 4:50:40 PM - NOMichael Thomas Agrees To Restructured Deal
The New Orleans Saints and wide receiver Michael Thomas agreed to a restructured contract on Friday, according to a source. Thomas, who is under contract through the 2024 season, had his base salary in 2023 reduced from $15.5 million to $1.165 million while adding a $31.755 million roster bonus for the 2024 league year that becomes fully guaranteed on the third day of 2023. He also received a signing bonus of $902,941 this week. It reinforces that any decision on Thomas' future with the team will be done expediently, as the Saints would be unlikely to move on from him if he remains on the roster once his massive roster bonus becomes guaranteed. It gives the Saints more flexibility and can allow Thomas to become a free agent earlier if the Saints cut him this offseason. Thomas set a single-season NFL record with 149 catches in 2019 but has played in just 10 games the last three years due to injuries.

New Orleans Saints tight ends Taysom Hill (back) and Juwan Johnson (quadriceps) are both listed as questionable for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Hill was limited in practice all week, while Johnson was limited the last two days, so there's a good chance both will be able to play in a meaningless game this weekend. Hill hasn't attempted more than four passes in a single game for the Saints this year, but he's been used more as a rusher in the last two games, carrying 23 times for 102 yards and two touchdowns. For his rushing prowess along, Hill carries some low-end TE1 appeal to close out the year. Johnson will be looking to finish out a career year on a high note after posting career-highs in catches (41), targets (64), yards (487) and touchdowns (seven) through 17 weeks. He's on the radar as a touchdown-dependent TE2 streamer.

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (quadriceps) was absent from the team's practice on Wednesday. The 26-year-old is starting off the week with an injury after tying his season-high in targets and receptions against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17. It is still early, but if Johnson was to miss their Week 18 game against the Carolina Panthers, it would be a big blow to the passing offense as he's played a larger role as of late. For fantasy managers that are relying on the third-year pro in fantasy championships, it'd be best to monitor his availability throughout the week.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Jan 5, 2023, 6:39:47 AM - NOInjured Taysom Hill Limited In Wednesday's Practice
New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill (back) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. After impacting every facet of the Saints' offense in Week 17, the gadget player is starting off the week on the injury report. It's still early in the week, so this limited practice is a decent sign that the 32-year-old should be available in Week 18. Hill could be an interesting option for fantasy managers still competing in championships, as his all-around offensive ability makes him a constant candidate for big performances. Consider him a solid play at tight end this week.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Jan 5, 2023, 6:38:44 AM - NOInjured Marshon Lattimore Making His Return In Week 17
New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) is officially active in Week 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Lattimore has not been active since Week 5 due to an abdominal injury, but he'll be out there on Sunday. Because of the long layoff, it's not wise to expect the 26-year-old to be out there for every defensive snap, but his return will be a huge boost to the Saints' secondary against Eagles backup quarterback Gardner Minshew. The four-time Pro Bowl cornerback had 15 tackles (10 solo) and two passes defensed in his first five starts before getting injured. Despite the return of Lattimore, the Saints defense/special teams unit isn't recommended in fantasy while going up against the high-powered Eagles offense, even with Jalen Hurts (shoulder) out.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Jan 1, 2023, 4:44:31 PM - NOInjured Chris Olave Active Against Eagles
New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Chris Olave (hamstring) is officially active for the Week 17 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Olave missed last week's win over the Cleveland Browns but returned to limited practices this week and will return to action this weekend as the Saints look to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The expectation all along was that the 22-year-old would return, and fantasy managers now have him available for their lineups on Sunday. The first-rounder has been the team's leading receiver in 2022 and should be quarterback Andy Dalton's top target as the Saints look to upset the Eagles. In New Orleans' low-scoring offense, Olave should be treated as a WR3/flex in his return.

New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) is expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. This is huge news for the New Orleans secondary considering Lattimore hasn't played since Week 5. Through his first five games, the former Pro Bowler amassed 15 tackles, including five in one game against the Vikings.
