- SFInjured Christian McCaffrey Removed From Injury Report
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (knee) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Saturday's Wild-Card game against the Seattle Seahawks. McCaffrey has been dealing with a lingering knee issue, but it doesn't sound like it's going to sideline him for this contest. McCaffrey played well against Seattle during their most recent matchup in Week 15. He'll be an expensive, but elite DFS option for this weekend. Fantasy managers can decide if they want to take the risk, but at least they know he'll be healthy enough to suit up.

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (knee) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday. McCaffrey has been dealing with a knee issue for several weeks and has been limited at practice in back-to-back weeks. The 26-year-old hasn't missed anytime and is expected to be available for Saturday's wild-card game against the Seattle Seahawks. CMC rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown while catching six passes for 30 yards in his previous game in Week 15 against Seattle. McCaffrey is an expensive but elite DFS option against the Seahawks defense that allowed the league's third most rushing yards (2,554) in 2022.

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (knee) was limited in Tuesday's practice. McCaffrey has been managing a knee issue in recent weeks, but he hasn't missed any time and is fully expected to be on the field to kick off the playoffs this Saturday in a wild-card matchup against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks. The 26-year-old is San Francisco's unquestioned lead back, and he should see plenty of work this weekend. In his lone meeting against the Seahawks in Week 15, CMC had a season-high 26 carries for 108 yards and a touchdown and also caught six of eight targets for 30 yards. He's probably the most expensive fantasy RB in DFS this week, but he might be totally worth it against a Seattle defense that allowed the fourth-most half-PPR points this year to opposing running backs.

San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) has been officially activated off the injured reserve. This was expected as Mitchell should be back in action for the Week 18 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. However, it's unclear how big of a role Mitchell is going to have during his first game back. The 24-year-old hasn't played since Week 12, so the 49ers might ease him into action. The expectation is that Christian McCaffrey is going to be the lead back and get a bulk of the carries. Mitchell won't be a great option in fantasy formats going forward with McCaffrey healthy.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the plan remains for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (foot) to be available late in the playoffs. Garoppolo is able to put some weight on his still-healing fractured left foot. A return to the NFC Championship game is the most realistic option for the Niners, assuming they are able to make it that deep into the postseason with rookie Brock Purdy under center. If Purdy is able to lead the 49ers to the NFC title game, there's still no guarantee that they'd choose Garoppolo over the rookie, especially since he hasn't played since Week 13. In 11 games (10 starts) before breaking his foot, Jimmy G had a 67.2% completion percentage, 2,437 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions.

The San Francisco 49ers will activate running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) from Injured Reserve on Saturday to the active roster. Mitchell is expected to be active for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Arizona Cardinals for the first time since Week 12. Because of the long layoff, it's unclear exactly how much Mitchell will play this weekend, and he'll also be battling for backfield touches with Christian McCaffrey and rookie Jordan Mason. After leading San Fran's backfield in 2021, Mitchell has played in only four games this year and has 40 carries for 224 yards and no touchdowns while adding three receptions for seven yards. He'll continue to take a back seat to CMC heading into the postseason.

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (ankle, knee) returned to practice on Friday and has been cleared to play in Week 18 against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. McCaffrey was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, leading to some speculation that he may not play this weekend. The 26-year-old will be active against Arizona, but there's not a guarantee that he'll see his normal heavy workload. The Niners still have a shot at the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC with a win and an Eagles loss, but depending on how things are going on Sunday, CMC could be pulled early. He'll also have more competition for backfield touches with the expected return of Elijah Mitchell (knee), who is coming off Injured Reserve.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (ankle, knee) has been removed from the Week 18 injury report and is expected to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. It will be Samuel's first game action since he sprained his left MCL and sprained his left ankle in Week 14. Because of the long layoff, there's a good chance the Niners take it easy on the 26-year-old and ease him back into the offense to ensure that he's fully healthy entering the postseason. If running back Christian McCaffrey (knee) is limited at all or held out, Samuel's chances for a bigger workload would increase, but he's still a risky fantasy proposition in his first game back in a game the Niners should be able to win easily.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Jan 6, 2023, 10:47:48 PM - SFInjured 49ers Won't Take Any Chances With Christian McCaffrey
The San Francisco 49ers will play it safe with running back Christian McCaffrey (ankle, knee) in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. "If he's not right we won't have him out there. Want him right for playoffs. But if healthy he'll play," general manager John Lynch said. McCaffrey missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday and will most likely be listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report if he's able to practice on Friday. The Niners still need to win this weekend and are still in play for the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC, but they won't ride CMC hard if they don't have to. Their priority will be to come out of this game without any injuries to key players like McCaffrey. There's inherent risk in the regular season finale, but if McCaffrey is active, he needs to be in all season-long lineups.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Jan 6, 2023, 5:34:12 PM - SFInjured Deebo Samuel Expected To Play In Week 18
San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said that wide receiver Deebo Samuel (ankle, knee) is expected to play in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Samuel practiced in full on Wednesday but was limited on Thursday, but he's still expected to make his first appearance since getting injured in Week 14. The 26-year-old is returning from a sprained left MCL and a sprained left ankle, so fantasy managers shouldn't necessarily expect a full workload in his first game back. The Niners will prioritize Samuel's health for the postseason first and foremost. There's a good chance he'll be listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report, but Samuel is expected to be active Sunday. He'll be a risky fantasy play.
