- LARAaron Donald Considering Retirement?
Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald has reportedly considered retiring from the National Football League this offseason. While there hasn't been an official update on Donald's plans, many began to speculate after the veteran changed his Twitter bio to "former NFL D Linemen for the Rams #99." However, he has since removed the update from his Twitter profile. The 31-year-old contemplated calling it quits after the Rams took down the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. But his contract was reworked, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, so he returned for another season. Donald finished the 2022-23 campaign by amassing 49 total tackles and a career-low five sacks. Yet, he appeared in only 11 games, with his year getting cut short due to an ankle injury. Nevertheless, the All-Pro likely has plenty of gas left in the tank, so dynasty managers should keep him on the roster, at least for now. Considering head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford are returning could be enough to bring Donald back for at least one more season. There's also rumblings he may out of Los Angeles after spending his entire nine-year career with the organization.

The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly expected to pick up quarterback Matthew Stafford's 2023 option bonus and 2024 salary this offseason, paying him a guaranteed $62 million. This update comes shortly after head coach Sean McVay made his decision to return to coach the Rams next season. The 34-year-old Stafford struggled early in the 2022-2023 campaign and was the subject of retirement rumors after being placed on Injured Reserve with a neck injury. Stafford later stated that he did not plan to retire and expects to be ready for OTAs in April. His return is great news for all of the team's offensive weapons, most notably wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay informed members of the organization on Friday that he will remain as the head coach for the 2023 season, according to sources. McVay left some doubt as to whether he would return after his season-ending news conference last weekend, but he quickly made a decision to come back for another year after LA disappointed by going 5-12 a year after winning the Super Bowl. Injuries to quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receiver Cooper Kupp and defensive tackle Aaron Donald didn't help. McVay was the youngest head coach in the NFL when he was hired by the Rams in 2017 before his 31st birthday, and the team has gone 67-41, including the playoffs, in his six seasons. The Rams have won a Super Bowl ring, three NFC West titles and two NFC championships in his tenure.

Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Liam Coen is officially leaving the team to rejoin the University of Kentucky as their offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. The news of Coen returning to the college ranks after a year away from Kentucky surfaced a month ago, but it's now official and has more meaning with Rams head coach Sean McVay potentially stepping away from the team as well. Coen was LA's assistant receivers coach from 2018-19 and was the team's assistant quarterbacks coach in 2020 before leaving to be Kentucky's offensive coordinator and QBs coach in 2021. Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is a hot candidate for vacant head-coaching positions this offseason as well, so it's possible the Rams could be searching for a new head coach, offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator.

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey (shoulder) said he could play many more weeks and feel fine, but he will need to undergo a second shoulder to fix the other AC joint that he injured in 2021. Ramsey underwent surgery on his left shoulder over the summer to fix the same issue and will now have a procedure on the other side after trying to heal it without surgery. "To me, that's nothing major," Ramsey said. "It is what it is. Going to get right, and we'll go from there." The 28-year-old five-time Pro Bowler played in all 17 games for the Rams in 2022 and finished with a career-high 88 tackles (64 solo), two sacks, four tackles for loss, a career-high-tying four interceptions, 18 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery, so he played just fine through his shoulder issues.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) said he's on track in his rehab after having tightrope surgery for a high-ankle sprain that he suffered in mid-November that ended his season early. "I think the trainers all feel good about where we're at," Kupp said. "I feel like we're making good time on things, and at the end of the day, I just want to be able to get to that place here so that I can get back to training and doing the football stuff again that I love." After leading the league in receiving yards, receptions and touchdowns in 2021, Kupp played in only nine games in 2022 and finished with 75 catches for 812 yards and six touchdowns. If fully healthy in 2023, he should continue to be a target hog with quarterback Matthew Stafford sticking around, but head coach Sean McVay's potential departure could be concerning for LA's offense overall.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said he still has every intention of playing in 2023, even in the event that head coach Sean McVay leaves the team. After winning the Super Bowl in his first year with LA, Stafford and the Rams were a huge disappointment in 2022 and he missed eight games with a concussion and neck injury. The 34-year-old said he feels "really good" about his health at the moment and is expecting to have a normal offseason. When healthy, Stafford averaged only 231.9 passing yards per game, the third-fewest mark of his career, and he tossed 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions in nine starts. The offensive line must improve and the Rams must get better with their WR depth behind Cooper Kupp if Stafford and the Rams offense is going to bounce back in 2023.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is expected to "take some time after Sunday's regular-season finale to determine whether he will return in 2023," sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. He has reportedly gone back and forth and needs time to reflect on the big decision after the season ends. As Schefter notes, it has been a hectic 12 months for McVay, who has won a Super Bowl, been courted to work in television, got married, watched his wife's home country of Ukraine get invaded, and lost his grandfather during that span. All the while, the Rams massively underperformed this season, going 5-11 while losing Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Aaron Donald to injuries. Needless to say, 2022 was a massive disappointment for the reigning Super Bowl champs. With that said, if McVay does step away, Los Angeles would likely become one of the most intriguing destinations for prospective hires. The team will likely have to add a new offensive coordinator, too; Liam Coen, who currently fills that role, is expected to join the coaching staff at the University of Kentucky.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback John Wolford (neck) wasn't listed on the team's first injury report of Week 18 on Wednesday. The 27-year-old hasn't practiced and missed the last three weeks due to a neck injury. He is trending in the right direction toward suiting up for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. The Wake Forest product will be the backup to Rams starting quarterback Baker Mayfield for Week 18. Wolford has thrown for 390 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions across three games in 2022 while filling in for the injured Matthew Stafford (neck).

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (elbow) and linebacker Leonard Floyd (illness) are active for Week 17 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Both players had been listed as questionable. Higbee is coming off a strong Week 16 outing in which he caught nine passes, 94 yards, and two touchdowns. He ranks as a low-end TE1 this week. Meanwhile, Floyd has put together a strong age-30 season, amassing 52 tackles, eight sacks, and one fumble recovery through 15 games.
