The 22-year-old is on track to miss his second consecutive game because of a foot contusion, which should keep Kenyon Martin Jr. in the starting lineup. Martin has averaged 12.6 points and 5.8 boards in nine starts during the 2022-23 campaign, earning him fantasy consideration for managers in deep setups.

Houston Rockets point guard Kevin Porter Jr. (foot) will miss his second game of the season Friday versus Sacramento. He hurt his left foot in a collision with teammate Jae'Sean Tate Wednesday when these two teams also met. Porter Jr. exited after logging only 10 minutes and his absence gave more playmaking duties to Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun. The latter ended up posting a 10-10-10 triple-double. Porter Jr.'s exit also helped Kenyon Martin Jr. to have a nice 21-point outing on Wednesday. He could now be looking at his ninth start of the season, and the 22-year-old has posted 13.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in the starting unit this season.

Injured Jae'Sean Tate Ready To Return ThursdayHouston Rockets forward Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) is finally available for the team again Thursday against Utah. He has missed all but three games this season with a right ankle injury. Tate is a guy who does a little bit of everything on the court and has averaged 8.3 points with 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals in the few appearances he's made this term. He will be a very useful fantasy piece once he's back at his best, but it might take a while until Tate is ready to handle his regular workload.

Injured Alperen Sengun To Play On MondayHouston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (back) will suit up for Monday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. The young big man missed their last game on Saturday due to lower back pain. He'll return to the starting lineup on Monday, so fantasy managers can get him back in their lineups. Bruno Fernando will head back to the bench where he won't have much streaming appeal behind Sengun in the rotation.

Earlier Thursday, Miami stated Smith was feeling ill, but it seems he's good enough to play this evening. On a rebuilding team, sometimes these games are where an otherwise underperforming player finds their groove. Perhaps the underwhelming rookie Smith will capitalize on the Heat's predicament -- a second night on a back-to-back schedule while missing four rotation players. Smith is averaging 12 points on a less-than-pedestrian .522 true shooting percentage.

The 19-year-old is one of the best rebounders on the team and has added 12.1 points to his 7.1 boards. Kenyon Martin Jr. and Tari Eason will be expected to step up if Smith Jr. isn't able to play. Both players have shown great promise and should be good streaming options for managers.

He's been nursing a right ankle problem since the end of October, and whilst Tate was cleared to start running again Monday, he still isn't ready to play. It will be his 18th game out. Tate also missed the start of the season, so he's been limited to just three appearances in 2022-23. The 27-year has been a guy who does a bit of everything for the team and his absence has been a bad blow, but it has also allowed youngsters like Jabari Smith Jr., Kenyon Martin Jr. and Tari Eason to log more minutes and develop quicker.

The 24-year-old is dealing with a non-COVID illness right now which he must have picked up during the two-day break since their last game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Fernando just started to ramp up his minutes over the last few games, but his productivity hasn't been anything to write home about. He's only worth adding in very deep leagues if fantasy managers are desperate for rebounds and a couple of blocks.

Injured Josh Christopher Tagged As Questionable Against SpursHouston Rockets guard Josh Christopher (foot) is uncertain to play against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night. He didn't make an appearance in the team's last win over the Philadelphia 76ers and has had an extended break since then. With the two days off, the fact that he's still questionable is slightly concerning. Even if he does play, he's not likely to be fantasy relevant as the most minutes he's played in a game this season is only 15. At this point, he's not even a must-add in dynasty formats either.
