- NYJJets Part Ways With Offensive Coordinator Mike LaFleur
The New York Jets and offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur mutually agreed to part ways on Wednesday, according to sources. The Jets didn't show any statistical improvement under the 36-year-old, who was one of the first to join head coach Robert Saleh's coaching staff in 2021. He was also responsible for the regression of second-year quarterback Zach Wilson in 2022. In addition to a new offensive coordinator, Saleh said he "definitely" wants to hire a senior offensive assistant, with former Houston Texans and Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak rumored as a possibility. The Jets didn't score a touchdown in the final three games, the longest drought since 2010. LaFleur's offense ranked 29th in scoring and 25th in total yards in 2022 after ranking 28th and 26th in those categories in 2021, respectively.

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that quarterback Zach Wilson will have a chance to compete for the starting QB job in 2023, but Saleh won't commit to Wilson being the starter right after the Week 18 regular season finale loss to the Miami Dolphins. The former No. 2 overall pick got a late start to the 2022 campaign due to a knee injury and then completely flopped, getting benched twice. He finished with a 54.5% completion percentage, 1,688 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions in nine starts and looked worse in his second NFL season. Many folks believe he needs a change of scenery already, but the Jets aren't giving up on him just yet. Mike White and Joe Flacco are free agents this offseason, but the Jets are fully expected to bring in another QB -- via free agency or a trade -- so Wilson will likely be fighting an uphill battle to win his job back.

New York Jets rookie running back Breece Hall (knee) has been talking with other RBs around the league that have come back from ACL surgery, and he thinks he can be ready for training camp this summer. Hall said that he's progressing ahead of schedule. It's something to be optimistic about for Jets fans, but we should take it with a grain of salt with the 2022 regular season just wrapping up on Sunday. Before tearing his ACL in October, the 21-year-old had 80 carries for 463 yards and four touchdowns while adding 19 receptions for 218 yards and another score as New York's primary back. Once healthy, he should return to that role, although the Jets' QB situation could hold him back a bit from a fantasy perspective. Despite his serious knee injury, Hall has the makings of a high-end RB1 moving forward.

New York Jets quarterback Mike White (ribs) and tight end C.J. Uzomah (ankle) have both officially been ruled out for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Miami Dolphins. White is dealing with five fractured ribs after getting beat up again in the Week 17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, so he'll finish the year on the bench. Veteran Joe Flacco will get the start, with Zach Wilson backing him up. In a meaningless game for Gang Green, Flacco will be a low-end QB2 for fantasy managers. Uzomah did very little in his first year in New York, catching 21 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns while working behind Tyler Conklin all year.

New York Jets quarterback Mike White (ribs) is officially listed as questionable for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Miami Dolphins. Despite the questionable tag, head coach Robert Saleh said on Friday that White will not play in a meaningless game for the Jets after he was beat up again in the Week 17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Instead, veteran Joe Flacco will close out the season under center, with Zach Wilson backing him up. White suffered five fractured ribs in Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills. The 27-year-old looked much better than Wilson in his four starts in 2022, but he'll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and it's unclear if the Jets have interest in bringing him back to compete for the starting QB gig in 2023.

New York Jets quarterback Mike White (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. White was downgraded to limited on Thursday after fully practicing on Wednesday. The 27-year-old suffered a setback and was ultimately ruled out for Week 18. White finishes the 2022 season with 1,192 passing yards and a 3:4 touchdown-to-interception ratio while rushing for a score over four games. Joe Flacco will start Sunday's game against Miami. Flacco operated as the Jets starter to begin the season, throwing for 902 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions over four games in 2022. The veteran quarterback is considered a borderline QB2 against the Dolphins in Week 18.

New York Jets quarterback Mike White (ribs) has been downgraded to a limited practice session on Thursday. This is not a good sign for his chance at playing in the Week 18 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The 27-year-old has already missed two games this season because of a fractured rib. The Jets aren't playing for anything, so possibly they decide to let White sit and get healthy. It's likely that Joe Flacco would start in his place, but it would make sense for Zach Wilson to get another shot under center. Fantasy managers should check back on Friday for another update on White's status.

The New York Jets aren't giving up on former first-round quarterback Zach Wilson, with head coach Robert Saleh saying the organization will do everything "through hell or high water" to maximize his potential. Wilson was benched twice in his second NFL season and will finish the year as a healthy scratch as the No. 3 QB in Week 18. "I think Zach needs to get away, read a book and figure that out," Saleh said. The former second overall pick really struggled in 2022 after missing the first three games with a knee injury, but he's only 23 years old and has time to turn things around. However, the Jets aren't committing to Wilson as their starter in 2023, even with Mike White and Joe Flacco set to be free agents this upcoming offseason. Focusing on fundamentals such as footwork and balance could be two big points of emphasis entering next season. Even if Wilson wins the starting job, fantasy managers will likely be ignoring him in single-QB leagues.

New York Jets quarterback Mike White (ribs) was able to put in a full practice during the team's walkthrough on Wednesday. Head coach Robert Saleh said that White will remain the starter in Week 18 against the Miami Dolphins. Joe Flacco will back him up again and Zach Wilson will remain inactive. White returned from a two-game absence and looked pretty bad in last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, ensuring the Jets will not make the playoffs. The 27-year-old is playing with a fractured rib, so he's far from 100 percent and could struggle again on Sunday as the Jets get one more look at White heading into the offseason. White won't cost much in DFS, but he's not recommended and profiles as a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Jan 5, 2023, 12:53:37 AM - NYJInjured Mike White Should Be Good For Week 18
New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that quarterback Mike White (ribs) is fine and should be ready to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Miami Dolphins after dealing with some normal soreness after the Week 17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks that eliminated the team from playoff contention. With the Jets potentially viewing White as a starting option under center to begin next season, they'll want to get another look at him. He looked bad in his return from a two-game absence on Sunday against Seattle, going 23-for-46 for 240 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. White was also sacked four times and lost a fumble. Treat him as a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues in the final game of the season in what will be his fifth start of the year.
