- CARSean Payton To Interview With Carolina
The Panthers have received permission to interview former Saints head coach Sean Payton. The list continues to grow, with Denver, Houston, and Arizona already inquiring about Payton's services. Of course, New Orleans will look for compensation from any club that eventually lands the Super Bowl-winning coach, with the price tag rumored to be at least a first-round pick. However, as the number of interested clubs continues to rise, that could increase. The Panthers began the 2022-23 campaign with Matt Rhule patrolling the sidelines. But after Carolina got off to a 1-4 start, he was fired, opening the door for Steve Wilks to take over with an interim label. Nevertheless, the Carolina vacancy may not appeal to Payton, who may prefer to lead a team with an established quarterback.

New England Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo will not interview for the Carolina Panthers' head coaching vacancy, according to Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston. Mayo already declined an interview with the Browns for their defensive coordinator vacancy, which came as no surprise since he fills a similar role for New England. However, most coaches would jump at the opportunity to be a head coach, so Mayo declining an interview with Carolina is notable. Presumably, this development stems from a recent announcement in which the Patriots said they were working to extend Mayo. Any possible extension would likely keep him in New England for several years, making it tougher for the other 31 teams to hire him, regardless of the role.

Carolina Panthers offensive guard Austin Corbett (knee) suffered a torn ACL in the Week 18 regular season finale against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. General manager Scott Fitterer said the hope is that Corbett will be back around the start of the 2023 season. The Panthers did not get into the postseason, so Corbett will be able to begin rehabbing immediately after his surgery. The Panthers are being optimistic about a potential return for the 27-year-old, but there's a very good possibility that he won't be ready for the regular season opener this fall. The former second-round pick started all 17 games for the second straight season in his first year in Carolina in 2022.

Carolina Panthers running back D'Onta Foreman was ejected from Sunday's game after landing an open-handed strike on New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Marcus Davenport. Foreman was livid during and after a scuffle between the division rivals in the third quarter. He finishes Week 18 with 12 rushes for 67 yards. Chuba Hubbard and Raheem Blackshear will handle rushing duties for the remainder of this regular season finale.

Carolina Panthers defensive end Brian Burns (ankle) is inactive for Week 18 against the New Orleans Saints. He had been listed as questionable after missing practice on Friday. Burns has been a game-wrecker this season, registering 63 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and one forced fumble through 17 contests. 2023 will be a contract year for the 24-year-old, so extending Burns figures to be a top priority for the Panthers this offseason.

Carolina Panthers running back D'Onta Foreman (knee) is active for the Week 18 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. He was listed as questionable coming into this game due to knee issue. Despite that, Foreman will play and should see plenty of touches in what is likely to be a low-scoring affair. Fantasy managers should put Foreman on the RB2 radar for this upcoming matchup with the Saints.

Carolina Panthers running back D'Onta Foreman (knee) is officially listed as questionable to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 18. Foreman has had a career season, racking up 846 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. The Saints are just a neutral matchup for running backs, so Foreman would be a decent DFS flex play in the season finale for Carolina. If he's out, Chuba Hubbard should see a significant workload, and will be very much on the DFS radar.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Jan 6, 2023, 6:23:30 PM - CARInjured Tommy Tremble Active Against Tampa
Carolina Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble (hip) is officially active for the Week 17 divisional showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Meanwhile, wide receiver Rashard Higgins is a healthy scratch. Tremble came into this contest as questionable due to his hip injury, but he will play and should be Carolina's top pass-catching tight end. However, the 22-year-old will continue to split snaps with Ian Thomas, limiting his fantasy appeal to the very deepest of leagues. Tremble has only 15 receptions on the year for 139 yards and two touchdowns on 28 targets over 15 games (four starts), so he should be avoided in the vast majority of fantasy lineups as the Panthers look to make a statement in the ugly NFC South.

Carolina Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble (hip) is questionable for Sunday's critical meeting with the Buccaneers. The 22-year-old was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. However, considering he was available for a full practice on Friday is a positive sign that he should be good to go. Tremble hasn't done much this season, so there likely aren't too many fantasy managers concerned about his availability one way or another for Week 17, mainly since he hasn't caught more than three passes in a game all year.
Source : RotoBallerUpdated : Dec 31, 2022, 4:16:03 PM - CARJosh Norman Will Be Active On Sunday
Carolina Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks said that cornerback Josh Norman will be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for the Week 17 tilt against the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 35-year-old veteran just was signed to Carolina's practice squad on Monday and will make his 2022 season debut in a big-time divisional clash against Tom Brady and Company. Norman played the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Panthers after being a fifth-round pick in 2012. Carolina will be hoping the veteran can pick up slack in the team's secondary after corner Jaycee Horn (wrist) underwent season-ending wrist surgery. The Panthers will certainly be tested against a pass-happy Bucs offense.
