WATCH: Nikola Jokic’s subdued reaction after passing Wilt Chamberlain’s triple-double record

Denver Nuggets talisman Nikola Jokic grabbed his 79th career triple-double in the NBA on Thursday night in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. A triple-double is an occasion in an NBA game where a player is able to get double-digits of points, assists, and rebounds as stats.

The Serbian had another impressive game racking up 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists to help his team over the line. But despite his mammoth outing against the Thunder and passing Wilt Chamberlian on the all-time list for triple-doubles, Jokic appeared rather unimpressed.

The Serbian was asked how he felt passing the NBA legend’s record and said, “It’s nice to be compared with a guy [Chamberlain] who’s probably one of the best ever. It’s some kind of legacy that I leave behind.” with a straight face.

His reaction to passing Chamberlain has NBA fans in splits. The two-time NBA MVP is now in sixth place on the all-time triple-double list and behind four-time NBA champion LeBron James who has 105. Another Los Angeles Lakers star, Russell Westbrook is leading the way with 194.

The Nuggets snapped Oklahoma’s four-game winning run and improved to 5-3. However, much of it was down to Jokic. The 27-year-old looked flawless throughout the game and was a cut above the rest. Jokic and the Nuggets will now welcome the San Antonio Spurs for their next game on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the Thunder will regroup and travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks on Saturday in what promises to be a crunch encounter.
