Pittsburgh Steelers Depth Chart 2022: Current Roster, Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2022 campaign will be their 90th in the National Football League and their 16th with head coach Mike Tomlin at the helm. Longtime quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not be on the roster for the first time since 2003, after he announced his retirement on January 27, 2022.

It will also be the first time since 1999 that the Steelers’ longtime general manager, Kevin Colbert, will not be in that position. On January 28, 2022, Colbert stated that, after 22 years with the team, he will step down after the 2022 NFL Draft. On May 25, 2022, Andy Weidl and Omar Khan took over as general manager and assistant general manager, respectively.

The Pittsburgh Steelers must reduce their current 90-man roster to 53 players by August 30. The roster will be thoroughly examined from top to bottom throughout the course of the following month. The front office and coaching staff will have to make some difficult choices, from deciding who will start on opening day to identifying the guys who will contribute on special teams.
