Is this the final nail in Dan Snyder’s coffin?

We’ve spoken a lot about Dan Snyder’s actions and how he’s a disgusting person. Snyder, the owner of the Washington Commanders, has accusations of financial fraud, sexual harassment with the cheerleaders, and the on-field product of his franchise since he took over is despicable – just ask any Washington fan, who hasn’t seen his team win a playoff game since 2005.

But the horror era in Washington might be coming to an end, according to reports. Some of the other owners are building momentum for a vote to force Snyder to sell his team and get away from the NFL. Of the 32 owners, it’d take 24 votes to force him to sell, and if it does happen, then surely a lengthy legal battle would unfold next.

But we might be seeing the last days of him as an owner, and that’s got to feel good even for those who hate the team.

There has been increasing frustration from the other owners about Snyder, especially after it was discovered that the Commanders have held a fraudulent scheme to not return money to the league and share it with all the owners. Under the condition of anonymity, one of the 32 told USA Today’s Jarrett Bell “we are counting votes”.

“There’s growing frustration about the Washington situation and not over one issue, but over how much smoke there is,” an unnamed owner told Bell. “I think everybody’s getting tired of it. If that happened, I think that’s the nail in the coffin.”

The owner is right. It’s not just one issue – it’s the collection of all of them that’s really exhausting. The whole e-mail saga after Bruce Allen was fired ended up with Jon Gruden being dusted from the Las Vegas Raiders (well, it’s not just the Commanders, of course). The accusations of sexual harassment from former cheerleaders. The fact that he’s taking away money from the league and creating a fraudulent scheme.

NFL owners are not angels. But Snyder seems to take the fact that he’s a bad person way beyond the acceptable. As it looks like, this is about to change if the owners get the right number of votes.
