$450 Million Worth Floyd Mayweather Offers a Whopping $2 Billion For an NBA Franchise

Unquestionably, Floyd Mayweather ranks among the best fighters to ever step foot inside a ring. The American celebrity has a perfect professional boxing record. In addition, he holds a number of other records in the sport. In an effort to acquire the majority ownership of an expansion NBA team, boxing icon Floyd Mayweather has admitted that he and his business partner Brent Johnson made a sizable bid.

Floyd Mayweather bids for an NBA team

The only NBA team now up for sale is the Phoenix Suns, whose owner Robert Sarver made the announcement in September following a finding that he had used racial and misogynistic slurs.

“I’ve been working on buying a NBA team outright. One of my other business partners, Brent Johnson, he’s here. So we’ve been working on the NBA team for a while now. It’s kinda, it’s rough…”

In addition to fighting, Mayweather likes to play basketball. He regularly shows up at important NBA occasions. According to a recent interview, the former professional boxer is now looking to buy his own NBA team, bringing his passion for the sport to a new level.

The retired unbeaten boxer has been highly active in the ring recently, competing in high-profile bouts with payouts of up to $100 million. Since his retirement, Floyd Mayweather has participated in more than a dozen exhibition fights and has made mention of the possibility of facing Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor again.
