Hollywood Superstar Nia Long Fires Shots at Boston Celtics After Ime Udoka Scandal

In the aftermath of the infidelity scandal that rocked the NBA, Nia Long, the fiancée of disgraced Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, has gone out in public for the first time, criticizing the team’s handling of the problem. The Hollywood icon gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter in which she criticizes the Boston Celtics organization for failing to provide her with the appropriate level of protection. Nobody contacted her or even seemed interested in asking how she was doing.

According to reports, Nia Long pardoned Ime Udoka for his offense, but she reportedly won’t pardon the Celtics for their involvement in the affair. The suspension of her longstanding companion, Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, was handled poorly, according to actress Nia Long.

Nia Long discussed in the interview how deeply the incident hurt her kid and her family. She also discussed how she manages the anguish that this life chapter has brought her.

Nia Long said: “If you’re in the business of protecting women – I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing. I have to commit myself to my work because I think sometimes when so much is happening, it takes your breath away and then it’s like you’re holding your breath, and you feel this angst and this panic of constantly being in fight-or-flight survival mode. I think mothers, Black women, we understand that more than anyone.”

Udoka apologized to his family, his team, and his organization for “letting them down” after being suspended through ESPN. Ime Udoka had a mutually consenting connection with a female team member of the Boston Celtics, who had her identity closely guarded by the Celtics organization. Given that Nia Long is a well-known person, this did not occur with her.

During such a trying period, the actress called the team out and made the public aware of how little they cared about her well-being. Shortly after Udoka’s suspension was announced in September, Long made it plain in a statement to Boston.com that she was primarily concerned for the welfare of her kids.
