Why does LeBron James hate the Celtics? Lakers star opens up on ‘racist’ Boston fans
LeBron James frequently makes news for his incredible basketball skills, but he also has a talent for saying things that catch people’s attention. The LA Lakers superstar has also enraged the supporters of a rival team, the Boston Celtics, by basically labelling them racist. Many of you have probably heard him say that he’d like to buy an NBA team, just like the icon that is Michael Jordan.
Without holding back, LeBron James criticized Celtics supporters.
The Los Angeles Lakers star identified Boston as his least preferred playing venue in the most recent episode of ‘’ The Shop Uninterrupted’. James answered simply when asked why he “hates” Beantown: “Because they’re racist as f*ck, that’s why.”

They’ll say whatever they want. He added of Celtics supporters, “And it’s fine. “F***, it’s my life, I mean. I’ve struggled with it my entire life. I’m fine with it. For instance, if I hear someone nearby, I quickly check for them before continuing with the game. They’re going to say whatever the hell they want. They could fling something at you”.

James remembered the moment he was walking to the locker room and a Celtics fan poured a drink on him. The action happened after Boston was defeated by James and the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals.
James chuckled, “There was like a f*** LBJ t-shirt.” “I think they sold it at the f***ing team shop.”
James’ remarks are the most recent in a line of sportsmen’s criticisms of Boston sports fans. Hazel Renee Green, Draymond Green’s wife, criticized the “shameful” “f*** you Draymond” chants used by Celtics supporters throughout the NBA Finals on Instagram in June earlier this year.
Following Game 3, Klay Thompson also voiced his dissatisfaction with Celtics supporters:
After the game, Thompson remarked, “We’ve played in front of obnoxious supporters before. Dropping F-bombs in front of children. really elegant Bravo, Boston’’.
Kyrie Irving acknowledged that during his time with the Celtics, he had heard racial insults hurled at him before the Nets’ first-round series against Boston in May.
In response to Irving’s remarks, Boston guard Jaylen Brown said: “I believe labeling every Celtics fan as a racist would be unfair.” We obviously have a lot of work to do, though. There aren’t enough resources or opportunities there.”
