He spent five seasons with the Pacers and twice received an All-Star nod during that time. Sabonis was acquired by the Sacramento Kings in a trade in 2022. Arvydas Sabonis, a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, is the father of Sabonis, who was born in Portland while his father was a Trail Blazers player.

He moved back to Málaga for the 2013–14 campaign and made his Liga ACB debut on October 13, 2013, becoming the youngest player from Unicaja to do so (17 years, 5 months, and 10 days). Sabonis made his EuroLeague debut on October 18 against Olympiacos Piraeus. He placed in the top 10 for the 2013 FIBA Europe Young Men’s Player of the Year Award voting in February 2014. He played for Thunder and Indiana Pacers before signing his contract with the Kings.
