‘You are only as good as your records’ – Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opens up on Golden State’s recent struggles

The Golden State Warriors hit rock bottom after their 143-113 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night. The reigning NBA champions are currently 11th in the Western Conference with just 15 wins and 18 defeats this campaign. And head coach Steve Kerr is far from being a happy man.

The Warriors are 3-16 on the road and have the worst road record in the NBA which is shocking for the current champions of the league. Moreover, their talisman Steph Curry has been ruled out for at least a month with a shoulder injury. Things can’t seem to be getting any worse for the Warriors and Kerr finally lifted the lid on his team’s horror outings this season.

What did Steve Kerr say about the Warriors’ poor run of form?

While speaking to ESPN after the loss against the Nets, Steve Kerr admitted that his side have been having shortcomings and put the records straight. He said, “You are what your record says you are.”It was a bad road trip. We are 15-18, so we’re a below-.500 team, and we’ve got to find a way to reverse that.”

Kerr knows all about having a torrid season as the Golden State suffered quite a traumatic experience in the 2019-2020 season when they finished last in the league. That season, they had multiple injuries to Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson was ruled out for the season as well.

However, Kerr will be eager to avoid another collapse this campaign. He has the tools to make sure that the Warriors make a comeback. Sure, things cannot go any worse from here for the defending NBA champs.
