Unfortunately for the fans, Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena didn’t create too many explosive moments, however, their highly anticipated UFC 277 rematch is expected to create significant buzz in the combat sports world.

Amanda Nunes on interacting with Julianna Pena at TUF

‘The Lioness’ quickly found out that she wouldn’t be receiving much contentious energy from her UFC 277 opponent when both women faced off at TUF. Per Nunes, ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ had her head in her mobile phone and refused to engage with the former two-division UFC champion.

Amanda Nunes would go on to label the interaction as ‘weird’.

“I just think she’s weird,” Nunes said of Peña at the UFC 277 media day. “But she’s in her own world, and I just did my own thing, so we didn’t see each other that much.

“We saw each other just a couple times when the fights happened, but she was on her phone, doing something else, not looking at me. You know what, girl? You stay there. No worries, and let’s do what we came here to do, and that’s it. [h/t mmafighting.com]

“I didn’t learn anything about her. … She’s just, I don’t know, she’s in her own world. So I didn’t even want to interact with anything.”

Regardless of how things played out between both women on the show, fans can expect a violent showcase when it’s all said and done. There’s a lot on the line when the cage door shuts behind both women and when legacy is at stake, the MMA community can expect an all-out war under the bright lights.
