WATCH: Nets fan throws cup at Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic, gets arrested
The Brooklyn Nets have a record of 1-4 after their first five games after suffering a defeat to the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 129-105 in overtime on Thursday night. During the overtime period of their game at their home arena, New York City’s Barclays Center, a fan threw a cup at Luka Doncic while Kevin Durant was shooting a free throw. The cup hit Doncic in the face.
According to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, the spectator has been taken to jail at this time. “A spokeswoman said that the guy who threw the cup of ice onto the court here at the Barclays Center during overtime was apprehended,” said Bontemps. “A spokeswoman claimed that the person who did this was apprehended.”
This type of disruptive and completely undesirable behavior has no place in the game, regardless of the circumstances. It must be avoided at all costs. The fact that the fan was captured is promising, and as a result, they will most likely be suspended in the future.

This game actually turned quite passionate, as evidenced by the fact that Luka Doncic was taken down to the ground by Kevin Durant’s behind-the-back shove at one point. Since it was a highly anticipated matchup between two of the best teams in the league at the time, emotions were high throughout the whole game, even though it was played at a high level of competition.
In the end, the Mavericks were victorious because of Luka’s game-high 41 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists in overtime. The final score was 129-125 in favor of the Mavericks. In spite of the fact that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving scored a combined 76 points throughout this game, Dallas was still able to come out on top.
At barely 23 years old, there is no question that he is already one of the best ten players in the NBA. In the previous season, he led the Mavs all the way to the championship game of the Western Conference.
Even though they have one of the most talented teams in the NBA, the Nets are currently struggling. The good news is that Kyrie Irving finished the game with 39 points, which put him in first place among all scorers, while Kevin Durant finished with 37 points.
They were the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference in the NBA Playoffs the year before, but the Boston Celtics beat them in four games in the first round. The Mavs will now make the trip to Texas, where on Saturday they will play the Thunder from Oklahoma City for the first time ever.
The Brooklyn Nets will host the Indiana Pacers at the Barclays Center in New York on the same night that they will play a home game against themselves.
