Curry established the record for the most three-pointers made in a quarter of an NBA Finals game while wearing the jersey that was auctioned off. On NBA Auctions, Curry’s iconic jersey was sold for $203,330 after a battle of 101 bids.
Curry made six 3-pointers in the first quarter of the Boston Celtics game 1, which the Warriors lost on June 2. In an NBA Finals game, that effort surpassed the mark for the most 3-pointers made in a single quarter.
Following the Warriors’ six-game victory against the Celtics, Curry went on to earn MVP of the Finals. The publication claims that a Curry jersey from Game 1 of the 2016 NBA Finals previously sold for $343,200 plus the buyer’s premium. Curry’s jersey price was still far less than the record $3.69 million paid for a Kobe Bryant jersey during the Lakers legend’s rookie year.
A 2009 Panini Absolute Memorabilia Signature Materials autographed Logoman Curry rookie card that sold for $492,000, a 2009 Playoff National Treasures Curry rookie patch that sold for $720,000, and a Curry jersey that was worn in Game 1 of the 2016 NBA Finals that sold for $343,200 are some other Curry collectables that have recently reached high prices.
Curry’s status as one of just 10 players in NBA history to win two MVP awards and a Finals MVP trophy accounts for some of the current rises in the value of collectables linked to him. Last December, he also surpassed the NBA’s record for most 3-pointers made in a career.
