‘Prepare Your Excuses, We Aim to Win..’- Khabib Nurmagomedov Has ‘Goosebumps’ In Antipation for Islam Makhachev vs Charles Oliveira at UFC 280

UFC 280 is set to produce one of the most exhilarating fights of the year as Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira duke it out for UFC lightweight gold. A man who knows all too well about wearing the lightweight belt around his waist recently spoke out via Instagram and chimed in on Makhachev vs Oliveira.

Islam Makhachev has been touted as Khabib Nurmagomedov’s protégé for a long-time and he’s finally made his way up to the top. Moreover, he’s facing a man with the stylistic tools to trouble him on the ground as Charles Oliveira holds the record for the most number of finishes in the history of the UFC.

Much like several MMA fans, Khabib Nurmagomedov has ‘goosebumps’ when waiting for the UFC to make a pitstop in Abu Dhabi for the event. Moreover, Nurmagomedov is excited about the scrap since Charles Oliveira has shown himself to be a worthy adversary.

“Just goosebumps from waiting. (Islam Makhachev) is coming out for this fight against the best fighter at the moment in (UFC). Oliveira is the best fighter of 2022. He is one of the best, regardless of the weight category, also goes on a 12-win streak in the UFC.”

“This fight will answer all questions. Someone reads history, and someone writes it. Prepare your excuses, we aim to win Oliveira ahead of schedule InshaAllah.”

A major criticism leveled against Makhachev is that he hasn’t faced any high-caliber opponents who have worn the strap, interim or otherwise. While his domination is virtually unparalleled, he doesn’t have wins over names like Dustin Poirier or Justin Gaethje.

However, Charles Oliveira’s recent run in the company has been awe-inspiring and he’s truly touted as the uncrowned champion of the division. A dominant win over Makhachev would send his popularity into the stratosphere and the sky will truly be the only limiting factor to his growth in the company.

The UFC’s premier division in the UFC will finally have a champion once the lights shine brightly on UFC 280.
