NBA Defenders Scared as Luka Doncic Bosses Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s Iconic Move in FIBA Qualifiers

Despite Luka Doncic’s impressive 36 minutes of high-level summer basketball, which included 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists, Slovenia still needed to make a pair of free throws with 3.8 seconds remaining to defeat a tenacious Sweden. When practically no one predicted it, Luka Doncic demonstrated his desire by traveling to Europe to play for Slovenia.

However, as his statistics indicate, Doncic consistently gives his all in both the NBA and for his country, Slovenia. With a 2-2 record and the requirement to win at least one of the final two games to advance to the next round, Slovenia received back Doncic and Dragic for these final two games of the Fiba 2023 WorldCup Qualifiers.

However, during the last game, Doncic tried an insane hook shot which went it. And it is not something that is easy and a legend like Kareem Abdul Jabbar used to pull it off.

Firstly, the Mavs star looks fantastic. Is this the year when he finally gets in shape for the season? Consider how lethal he is without caring a fig about training or improving his physique. It would be as scary if he were to add the skyhook to his repertoire. I’ve never known why players started to avoid the skyhook. It’s actually impossible to quit. Kareem’s 38,387 career points, many of which came via skyhooks, have shown us this.

The fact is that no one in NBA history has consistently shown they can block or stop the skyhook. If they do, it’s unintentional. Even when you could see Kareem Abdul-skyhook Jabbar’s coming, it was impossible to stop.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s Skyhook

Sweeping over the lane with its left leg, ready to take root in the earth like a tree trunk. In midair, the right leg is bent 90 degrees at the knee. The right arm is tucked behind the head and then gently extended straight upward. After lifting to defend the ball’s inside, the left arm descends like a shield into your airspace. Abdul-Jabbar claims nobody has ever blocked his skyhook head-on.

“Maybe a few people got to it, coming to help where I couldn’t see them, but if I knew where someone was, that person was not going to block that shot, because I always got my body in between them and the ball before I released the ball, and it’s impossible to get to it,” Kareem told ESPN once.

The most significant—and dullest—reason why the skyhook became unstoppable is that Abdul-Jabbar is tall. He played much bigger than his advertised height of 7’2″. He could stretch higher than any man ever did, reaching out with his complete right arm, leaping into the air from his left foot.
