NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins changes mind on Anthony Davis winning MVP after Lakers’ horrible start to new season

The Lakers‘ 2022-23 season got off to a rough start with a loss to the Golden State Warriors, who were the defending champions. The Lakers could definitely improve their shooting if they had more help from other players, but NBA expert Kendrick Perkins has had enough of the league.

Before the start of the season, former champion Kendrick Perkins had high hopes for Anthony Davis, who is the big man for the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis was Perkins’ choice for Most Valuable Player, and Perkins was confident that the former All-Star could perform at an elite level for the Purple and Gold again. Davis won the award.

Despite AD’s outstanding performance against the Warriors, in which he scored 27 points, Perkins does not appear to be convinced that AD will win the MVP award. Following the Lakers’ season-opening loss to the Warriors, “Big Perk” reversed his prediction that AD would be named the league’s most valuable player (MVP).

Perkins, who praised what he saw from Davis in his first game, believes that Davis will be handicapped by the apparent faults that exist on the team. Perkins was impressed by what he saw from Davis.

The Lakers appeared to be effective and top-heavy, just as they have been in previous seasons; consequently, with a few modifications, they might be able to get along just fine.

To start the season, the Lakers have a difficult schedule, and it’s hard to imagine many other teams doing well while playing the Warriors. It’s also hard to imagine the Warriors losing. especially on the first day of the NBA season.
