Myles Turner injury update: When will the Indiana Pacers star return?

When the general manager of the Indiana Pacers, Chad Buchanan, stated in September of last year that the big man would be present with the club on opening night, he did not mean that Myles Turner would simply be sitting on the bench and watching the game. Unfortunately, once the club decided not to include the big guy because of his injuries, the situation became exactly as described.

Myles Turner, a star player for the Pacers, was unable to play in the team’s season opener on Wednesday night against the Wizards because he suffered an injury during pregame warmups. According to reports, the left ankle of the center was sprained when he landed on the foot of a ball boy during warm-ups.

Because of a stress fracture in his foot, Turner was forced to sit out the final 38 games of the previous season, which is how he sustained this awful ailment. Since he was selected to begin the game alongside the other starters, he expected to participate in the match on Wednesday evening.

The length of time that Turner is expected to need to heal from this injury is unknown. On Friday, the Pacers will play their next game, which will be against the Spurs. Turner will take the next two days to look at his twisted ankle and decide if he will be able to keep competing.

In addition, Turner’s value could drop even further if he were to sustain an injury. The shot-blocking big man is projected to be a significant trade component for the Pacers during the 2022–23 season, but, due to his extensive injury history, it is possible that the organization will not be able to acquire as much in return for his services.

It does not appear that Turner’s injury is severe or likely to cause him problems in the long run. On the other hand, the fact that he got it in the first game of the year and while warming up continuously is unquestionably a negative thing to happen.
