Lakers fans react to Anthony Davis training with world-famous shooting coach Chris Matthews
Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis has faced criticism frequently throughout his three seasons with the team. Many Lakers supporters have slammed Davis because they believe he lacks fire and motivation, is soft, passive, unaggressive, and prone to injuries.
Regardless, he has consistently been among the NBA’s top 10 players when in good condition, averaging 23.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks while shooting 53.2 percent from the field this past season. But it is obvious that he is working hard to raise the bar on his performance.
Recently, there has been a lot of talk concerning Anthony Davis’ practice routines. The Lakers big man made a major splash when he revealed in early June that he hadn’t shot a basketball since his previous game. Although Davis’ offseason regimen didn’t bother Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, the revelation didn’t go down well with the audience.

A few days after Davis made his remark, he has seen training with Chris “Lethal Shooter” Matthews, a well-known shooting instructor. Coincidence? Most likely not.
According to the youngsters, AD is supposed “back in the lab” with Matthews. A video of AD making free throws was released by the shooting coach on his 2.1 million-follower Instagram account. Davis is waking up at the crack of dawn to hone his skills, Matthews also said.

“Anthony Davis has been locked in! Training every day at 4:50 am is what it takes! After 400makes, FTs are key! To be the best if you need to be up before the rest. More work to be done this summer!”

Davis has to get better at perimeter shooting and free throw accuracy more than anything else. He hit a pitiful 18.6 percent of his three-point attempts in 2022, and his free-throw percentage of 71.3 is far lower than it was in 2020 when he shot 84.6 percent.
Fans of the Lakers shouldn’t be concerned about Davis’ work ethic because he is obviously taking the necessary steps to have a fantastic 2022–23 season.
On social media, the NBA community responded to Anthony Davis’ summer activities.
AD bout to come back strong and average 28 & 12 with 3 blocks per game this season. MVP candidate on the way! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
