Kevin Garnett sends powerful, NSFW message to Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis
After only participating in 40 games the previous season, Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis will be aiming to remain healthy in the 2022–23 season. It was a nightmarish season for the Lakers due to his injuries and Russell Westbrook’s awkward fit.
AD said recently that he hadn’t shot a basketball since the beginning of April. He was then spotted in the lab with Lethal Shooter, which greatly alarmed the NBA community. One legend, however—Kevin Garnett—had a direct, NSFW message for the Lakers big man. If Davis puts his head and heart into the sport, the Hall of Famer genuinely feels he can win the MVP award next season.
As a member of the Lakers during their championship run in Orlando, Florida, Davis joined the team in a blockbuster trade with them in 2019. Davis, 29, has struggled with injuries in each of the last two seasons since that high point. His absence had a significant role in the Lakers’ early playoff elimination in the 2020–21 season and their failure to even qualify for the postseason this past season.

Davis has never been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), despite career averages of 23.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game.
Garnett believes AD needs to pursue Most Valuable Player. Additionally, he stated that after LeBron James did it for more than ten years, it is now his turn to “carry the torch.” It sounds like KG genuinely thinks Davis isn’t reaching his prime in LA. Garnett is also interested in seeing how Rasheed Wallace, who will work as one of Darvin Ham’s new assistants, would affect AD’s game.

To be honest, KG is not mistaken. Obviously, being on the floor is important, but AD, not Bron, should be the Lakers team’s leader at this juncture. Literally, James is 37 years old. Garnett has never been afraid to express his disapproval of the Lakers. Prior to changing his tune, he slammed the Lakers for their current coaching search and James and Davis for not participating in the Olympics last year.
No evidence suggests that the Lakers or Davis have requested Garnett to collaborate. Davis also doesn’t appear to have made any such request. Garnett could simply be attempting to enflame Davis to test the potency of his comments in the next campaign.
