Josh Allen Injury: A Matter Of Extreme Concern For Bills

During the last drive of the Buffalo Bills’ Sunday loss to the New York Jets, Josh Allen’s right forearm was caught in the crossfire of a strip sack and bent backwards, forcing him to grasp for his elbow.

After the Bills’ 20-17 loss to the Jets at MetLife Stadium, which saw them drop to 6-2 overall and 0-2 in the AFC East, Allen’s elbow might now pose a serious health risk.

Josh Allen Post Injury: “I made some bad decisions tonight, and it cost us.”

Although the Bills followed their season-long pattern of suffering several injuries on the defensive side of the ball, the injury that occurred in the final seconds of the game may have been the most concerning one.

Bryce Huff of the Jets hit Josh Allen’s arm as he attempted to throw the ball downfield and start a comeback drive for the Bills. Allen prepared to throw with 1:17 remaining on the clock but was sacked and lost the ball, which was later found by lineman Ryan Bates.

After the game, Josh Allen, who had two rushing touchdowns in the first half but only completed 18 of 34 passes for 205 yards and two interceptions, said, “There’s some small soreness, but I’ll get through it.”

Before Buffalo’s upcoming home game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Bills franchise and devoted crowd will undoubtedly keep a watch on Allen’s arm and the improvements he makes in practice this week (7-1).

After the game, Bills coach Sean McDermott said of Josh Allen, “As far as I know, he’s still being evaluated.”

Back to the wider picture for the Bills: Allen almost had three interceptions against the Jets, and it was a disappointing performance given that he had two picks in their mediocre second half of a victory against the Green Bay Packers last week.

“I made some bad decisions tonight and it cost us.”
