‘It feels like a fricking waste of time’ – Joel Embiid on failure to win NBA championship with Philadelphia 76ers

In spite of the fact that he is one of the most successful NBA players of this generation, Joel Embiid, star of the Philadelphia 76ers, will not be satisfied with anything other than an NBA championship.

When asked about it by ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, Embiid described how failing to win a championship makes one feel “like you just frickin’ squandered time.”

Embiid’s perspective is unique due to the fact that he may immediately influence the result of a game. This means that victories and defeats can be more directly linked to his play than to the play of the majority of players in the league. Throughout his career, he has felt the toll that catastrophic postseason losses have had on him.

Embiid’s passionate response to Kawhi Leonard’s four-bounce buzzer beater, which earned the Toronto Raptors a 92-90 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, is one of the most unforgettable pictures from Embiid’s professional career.

There aren’t many players in the NBA who can match Embiid’s level of ferocity and enthusiasm. He has enthusiastically taken on the role of becoming the public face of the Philadelphia 76ers basketball club, which has resulted in many favorable outcomes for both him and the franchise.

Embiid, a five-time All-Star, has finished in second place in the voting for Most Valuable Player each of the past two seasons. The Sixers have qualified for the playoffs in each of the last five seasons, but they have never been further than the second round of the playoffs.
