How long is Damian Lilliard out for? Trail Blazers’ healing from calf injury vs Miami Heat

The Portland Trail Blazers and the Miami Heat squared off in a game played on Wednesday night in Portland, Oregon. During the course of the game, Damian Lillard sustained an injury to his calf.

Because of a right calf strain, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard had to leave the game against the Miami Heat on the Trail Blazers’ home court on Wednesday night during the third quarter. The game was being played on Wednesday night.

According to the team, he was no longer eligible to participate in the game and cannot move on. Approximately halfway through the period, it appeared as though Lillard was in pain as he dribbled the ball to his left before shooting a three-pointer.

He paid close attention to his right calf as he jogged back up the court. After committing a turnover with 5:10 left in the third quarter and the Trail Blazers trailing 79-70, Lillard’s night was gone. He was hauled out of the game and immediately taken to the locker room for evaluation after being taken out of the game.

When he landed after making a 3-point shot halfway through the third quarter, it appeared that he had sustained the injury. After the subsequent possession resulted in a turnover, he requested to quit the game. Lillard scored 22 points before leaving the game after 26 minutes of play.

After Lillard left the game, the Heat was able to make their lead even bigger. With 7 minutes and 35 seconds left in the game, their lead was 108-85. In 2020, he scored an average of 28.8 points per game and dished out an average of 7.5 assists per game. However, through the first three games of this season, he has scored 33.2 points and has dished out 5.2 assists.

The Trail Blazers had a perfect record coming into the game, having won their previous four games against the Sacramento Kings, the Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Denver Nuggets.

They had won four of their first five games, with a record of 4-1, but they were upset by the Heat with a score of 119-98. Despite this, Lillard finished the game with 22 points, which put him in first place among his team’s scorers.

The All-NBA guard had to sit out most of the previous season in order to focus on his recovery from an abdominal injury. Since his return to the team at the beginning of this season, he has averaged 33.3 points and 10.5 field goals while shooting 50%, all of which would be career highs if they were to continue.
