‘He’s the best shooter we’ve seen’ – NBA legend Scottie Pippen hails Warriors talisman Steph Curry

LeBron James and Steph Curry are rarely compared as players despite having arguably of the most decorated NBA careers in history. This is because of their radically dissimilar playing philosophies. In a recent article about Steph Curry’s longevity, NBA veteran Scottie Pippen offered a unique perspective, comparing him to a “mini-LeBron” in terms of power and toughness.

After finally winning his first MVP award in the Finals and leading the Warriors to their fourth title in as few as eight seasons, Stephen Curry is in the prime of his career. Throughout their incredible postseason run, Curry was unstoppable, putting on incredible performances and destroying just about every team in his path to another championship.

Despite the fact that it might not seem like it, Steph turned 34 this year and is therefore getting older. And it’s obvious that the Warriors are already considering life without their star given owner Joe Lacob’s recent remarks about not selling away the team’s youthful core. Curry’s career is far from over, though, according to Bulls icon Scottie Pippen, who thinks the Chef can continue to compete for years to come.

On Sirius XM NBA radio, Pippen stated, “You take a player like Steph, he’s a mini-LeBron to some degree, He is physically powerful considering his small. We could certainly get at least another six years from this guy. He is the best shot we have ever seen. He is a shooter. If he wanted to, he could likely continue playing the game into his fifties.”

The six-time champion went on to remark that Steph’s shooting prowess will enable his game to age gracefully, even as he physically begins to deteriorate. Steph’s impressive physical qualities are that they have only become better with age.”Obviously, he’s the greatest shooter that we’ve ever seen,” Pippen said of Curry. “His basketball IQ, his intelligence, and what he’s been able to do for small guys in this game, it’s just amazing.”

Recently, Steve Kerr reiterated some of the same comments, stating, “This was the best I’ve ever seen him in terms of his two-way play, especially during the playoffs when you have time off in between games and you’re really focused in. His rebuttal was outstanding. He’s become incredibly stronger… Therefore, Steph has never been defensively better, and as I mentioned, there is no reason why he can’t continue to have playoff runs like this when he has time to recuperate at 34, 35, or 36.”
