Skip Bayless doubles down on “Westbrick” remark, challenges Lakers’ Russell Westbrook to a face-to-face
On Sunday, Skip Bayless asked Russell Westbrook to appear on his program or podcast and speak with him directly about the moniker he coined in 2012. When the analyst once again named him in a Twitter post with the satirical moniker, Bayless, 70, responded to Westbrook’s warning to “mind your mouth” on Twitter. Hey, Russell Westbrook,” tweeted Bayless. “Excited to discuss the moniker I believe I created in 2012 in person.

When the Lakers were in the depths of despair in March, Westbrook cited the way fans had treated his family, including the use of the title, as the reason they didn’t want to attend home games.
Why did Skip Bayless criticize Russell Westbrook?
Westbrook, who was supposed to have a happy reunion after being transferred from the Wizards, had a terrible first season in LA. Westbrook had trouble blending in with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers ultimately missed the playoffs. The franchise has been mentioned as a potential option for Kyrie Irving, but in that case, Irving could have to accept a significant pay reduction to stay below the salary ceiling.

In a subsequent tweet, Bayless continued, saying that Westbrook only has to start making shots and stop giving the ball away in order to “hush up” the naysayers.
Amazing & amusing how Russell Westbrook is trying to turn himself into a victim after he was such a nightmare for Laker Nation last yr. All he has to do to shut up/shut down us critics is simply to MAKE SHOTS & QUIT COMMITTING SADLY COMICAL TURNOVERS. But … it's critics' fault.

When Westbrook had a “terrible” season with the Los Angeles Lakers, the co-host of Skip and Shannon: Undisputed remarked it’s funny to see him behave like a victim. After being such a disaster for Laker Nation the previous year, it’s amazing and funny how Russell Westbrook is attempting to paint himself as the victim.
Yoooo… watch your mouth. Don’t say anything here you wouldn’t say to my face. https://t.co/0u8nFXYLY8

However, this wasn’t the first Skip Bayless nickname controversy. It will also not be the first occasion an NBA star made an appearance to protect his family name if Westbrook did decide to join Bayless on his podcast or TV program. Chris Bosh, a power forward for the Miami Heat, questioned Bayless over his title “Bosh Spice” in 2011. Bosh said to Bayless that he and his family take great pride in their last name and take offense when others make fun of it.
What is truly entertaining is seeing Westbrook accept the bait and give additional fuel to Skip’s trolling fire after Bayless kept to his character and dubbed him “Bosh Spice” to his face.
