Reports: Nationals signing Dominic Smith to 1-year deal

The Washington Nationals have agreed to terms with free agent infielder/outfielder Dominic Smith on a one-year deal, multiple outlets reported Tuesday. The deal is for $2 million with another $2 million available in performance bonuses, per the reports. Smith, 27, has spent his entire career with the New York Mets organization. A first-round draft pick by the Mets in 2013, Smith batted .246/.308/.424 with 46 home runs and 179 RBIs in six seasons with the Mets.
