Report: Nationals signing RHP Trevor Williams

The Washington Nationals and right-hander Trevor Williams agreed to a two-year deal, MASNsports.com reported Friday. The 30-year-old free agent made 30 appearances (nine starts) with the New York Mets in 2022, finishing 3-5 with one save and a 3.21 ERA. He struck out 84 batters in 89 2/3 innings. Williams could wind up as the No. 5 starter or a long reliever with the Nationals, per the report.
