Blaine Gabbert Relieves Tom Brady Sunday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has been pulled from Sunday's Week 18 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Brady finished 13-for-17 with 84 yards and one touchdown, breaking the NFL's single-season completion record (previously set by Brady himself in 2021). Brady's departure comes as no surprise considering the Buccaneers have secured the NFC's No. 4 seed and planned all along to pull some of their starters midway through this week's game. Veteran quarterback Blaine Gabbert will take over, though there's a chance that Kyle Trask could also see some snaps later on.

Tom Brady Says Hand Is "Fine"

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (hand) said following Sunday's loss to the 49ers that his right hand was "fine." The signal-caller smacked his throwing hand on defensive lineman Samson Ebukam's helmet on a play that resulted in an interception early in the third quarter. He was seen shaking his hand and in pain immediately following, so everyone can take his comment with a grain of salt, at least for now, until an official injury report is made public ahead of the Week 15 meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals. However, If Brady misses time, backup Blaine Gabbert would presumably replace him under center, although managers probably won't benefit from adding him to any fantasy roster. Gabbert's presence also wouldn't be ideal for Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and the rest of the offense.

Tom Brady Says He's Playing In Week 5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (finger, shoulder) said he "feels great" after returning to practice on Thursday and also said that he'll "be there Sunday" in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons. Brady was listed as a full participant on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday, but his injuries don't appear to be very serious. With all three of his top receivers returning to action in the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the 45-year-old future Hall of Famer had a season-high 385 passing yards and three touchdowns for his fantasy managers. You shouldn't expect as much passing volume against Atlanta this Sunday, but Brady should at least be on the fantasy map as a low-end QB1.

Tom Brady Returns To Practice Thursday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (finger, shoulder) was back at practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. It's always notable anytime Brady is dealing with an injury, and he was seen trying to loosen up his shoulder in the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday night. It's worth watching, but with the 45-year-old returning to practice, he'll be fully expected to suit up this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Brady threw for a season-high 385 yards and three touchdowns last weekend with his top three receivers returning from injury and suspension, so he'll once again be an acceptable low-end QB1 for fantasy managers against the Falcons this Sunday.

Tom Brady Misses Practice With Multiple Injuries

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (finger, shoulder) missed Wednesday's practice with right shoulder and right finger injuries. Brady was seen moving his right arm around as if he were in pain in the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night, and now he's also dealing with a right ring-finger injury head of the Week 5 meeting with the Atlanta Falcons. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned about the 45-year-old GOAT unless he misses more practice time this week. With all his offensive weapons back last week, he went off for 385 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to KC. If Brady is able to get back to practice later this week and play on Sunday against Atlanta, he should be a low-end QB1 play in fantasy.

    Tom Brady Downplays Possible Injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady didn't miss a snap during Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Although, there was some concern about Brady's health following a play in the first half. The 45-year-old was strip-sacked and came up clutching his right arm. When asked about it Brady said that he'll be fine, so he certainly isn't concerned. He did return to action and finished with a season-high 385 passing yards with three touchdowns in the loss. This arm/shoulder issue is something to monitor heading into next week, but it sounds like Brady is fine.

    Tom Brady Cleared For Sunday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (finger) was able to practice in full on Friday and was removed from the final injury report. He will play in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers after showing up on the injury report this week with a right finger injury. The 45-year-old GOAT apparently injured his finger in the Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints, but it's obviously nothing major. More worrisome this weekend is the fact that he's already without Mike Evans (suspension) and Chris Godwin (hamstring) and could also be without Julio Jones (knee), who is questionable. Brady was without Godwin and Jones last week and threw for just 190 yards with one touchdown against a tough Saints defense.

Tom Brady Dealing With Finger Injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (finger) was a full participant in Thursday's practice after his usual veteran's day off Wednesday. According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, Brady had discomfort in the ring finger of his throwing hand. The 45-year-old was spotted shaking his right-hand multiple times as if bothered by the injury. "I banged it up pretty good, but it didn't affect me at all in the game," Brady said. "Just going to be sore throughout the week. But one of those bumps and bruises that comes along with playing." Brady indicated his finger is fine and will suit up in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers. The GOAT has thrown 402 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception over two games this season. Brady hasn't put up his usual numbers and will look to get back on track against a Packers defense that is 21st in pass DVOA, making him a borderline QB1 in Week 3.

Tom Brady Expected To Retire After This Season

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is expected to play his final season of football in 2022, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Brady retired and then unretired this past offseason, and spending one more year in the NFL would allow him to achieve his goal of playing until he is 45 years old. "He has never said it publicly, but multiple parties involved acknowledge that after last year's retirement then unretirement, the end is coming," writes Rapoport. "That is the understanding, that this is the final year." Brady re-joined the Buccaneers this offseason, but he did enjoy an 11-day hiatus with no football distractions in the Bahamas during the middle of training camp. Now, though, the future Hall of Famer is focused on the 2022 season. He enters the year as a strong QB1 option in an exciting offense.

Tom Brady Will Start In Preseason Finale

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will start the team's preseason finale on Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Any player that is healthy will play in the game. Brady returned from a lengthy absence due to a personal reason on Monday this week and has looked good in training camp practices. The 45-year-old GOAT should be just fine heading into the 2022 regular season, but issues along the offensive line are a bit concerning. He'll have plenty of receiving weapons yet again this year, even with long-time tight end Rob Gronkowski retiring. Brady had one of the best seasons of his Hall of Fame career in 2021, throwing for a league-high 5,316 yards, a league-high 43 touchdowns and only 12 interceptions in 17 regular season games.

No Timetable For Tom Brady's Return

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles didn't have a timetable for quarterback Tom Brady's (personal) return to the team when asked on Thursday. "We'll see. We'll talk about it next week. I'm not concerned about it right now. We're trying to practice against Tennessee and play a game. I said sometime after Tennessee. There's no definitive date for me. We'll keep in touch and find out." Bowles said. The Bucs initially expected Brady to return at some point after their second preseason game this weekend against the Tennessee Titans, so nothing has really changed at this point. If Brady still isn't back with the team by next week, then we can start to panic. Even if he was with the team, he'd be without receivers Mike Evans (hamstring), Russell Gage (leg) and Chris Godwin (knee).
