The three-year-old son of Embiid and de Paula, Arthur, was present at the wedding and was seen following his parents after they exchanged vows. Arthur will be three in September.

While de Paula looked lovely in a lace, long-sleeve wedding dress, the 29-year-old Sixers standout, and his son were both sporting matching white tuxedo jackets with black bowties.

Following a church ceremony, Embiid and de Paula, who have been linked since 2018, took pictures together on Cryder Beach and exchanged vows.

Being good friends with Embiid, former Sixers owner and current CEO of Fanatics Michael Rubin attended the wedding and posted a picture of the newlyweds on his Instagram Story.

“Congrats @joelembiid and @annedepaula love you guys so much,” Rubin added two red heart emoticons to his writing.

“Congratulations to Arthur’s parents!” was written beneath a picture of the family taken at their wedding on Tuesday by the Sixers’ official Twitter account.

According to the couple’s account in an interview with ESPN for its May 2021 cover story, Embiid, and de Paula met at a dinner in 2018 in New York City thanks to a common friend.

On an edition of Zach Lowe’s podcast “The Lowe Post” from last week, Lowe and Dave McMenamin of ESPN hinted at a potential pairing.

McMenamin said, “I mean line up the Acela Express and send him up to New York.”

“That’s been what has been the murmurs. [Lowe] said New York, we’ve all heard New York, we know the connection between [Knicks president] Leon Rose and Joel Embiid.”

Rose, Embiid’s former agent, and Embiid have maintained their friendship.

In a recent visit on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Philadelphia Inquirer Sixers insider Keith Pompey contributed to the hype.

“Joel already owns a house up in New York, he’s had it for a while,” Pompey said. “The worst-kept secret is that the Knicks have been compiling and keeping a hold of their first-round draft picks hoping and praying that Joel Embiid asks out.

“I can see that absolutely happening.”
