Later, he joined the Buccaneers, with whom he helped them defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. He served as the team’s main starter for the majority of the
2021 campaign, but a late-season injury prevented him from playing in the final three regular-season games and a portion of the postseason.
