American outfielder Khalil Lee plays for the New York Mets in professional baseball. In 2021, he made his MLB start. Lee completed his education at Flint Hill School in Oakton, Virginia, where he participated in baseball as an outfielder and hurler. Baseball was Lee’s chosen sport at Liberty University. However, he decided against going to college after being selected by the Kansas City Royals in the third round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft and signing a $579,700 contract with the team.

The Royals dealt Lee to the New York Mets in a three-team transaction on February 10, 2021. On February 10, he was officially assigned to Triple-A Syracuse after clearing waivers.

In a complaint, Lee’s former partner Keriwyn Hill alleged that Lee attacked her in May 2022 by yanking on her hair and “choking [her] neck with his hands to the point that she could not breathe or speak for a brief period,” leaving numerous injuries and scars on her body.

According to the complaint, Lee and Hill first connected on social media in May 2021 while Lee was still playing for the Mets. They then started dating, which lasted until the autumn of that year, though they kept in touch in the months that followed. Then, in May 2022, Lee reportedly proposed that Hill travel to Syracuse, where he allegedly declared his desire to rekindle their romance. According to the lawsuit, Hill claimed that she then felt Lee’s hand around her throat for ten to fifteen seconds and that she was unable to breathe or talk to tell him to stop.
