Jimmy Garoppolo was replaced by Purdy as quarterback on October 23, 2022, with the Kansas City Chiefs losing 44–23 at the time. Purdy completed one interception and passed for 66 yards. He completed the first pass by Mr. Irrelevant during the regular season.
