Garrett Cooper is a professional baseball player who currently plays as a first baseman and outfielder for the Miami Marlins in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on December 25, 1990, in Manhattan, Kansas, Cooper has had an impressive journey to his current position as a professional athlete. 

Garrett Cooper grew up in a small town in California, and from a young age, he showed a passion for sports. His father was also a baseball player, and he played a significant role in nurturing Cooper’s interest in the sport. Cooper attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he played for the Lions baseball team. He played three seasons for the Lions, starting in 2012, and during his time there, he became one of the most accomplished players in the team’s history.


After graduating from Loyola Marymount University, Garrett Cooper was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. He began his professional career playing in the minor leagues for the Brewers’ farm system, where he spent several years before making his debut for the Brewers in 2017. Cooper played in just nine games for the Brewers before being traded to the New York Yankees.
