Who has the Most NBA Rings?

National Basketball Association (NBA) Championship is a major professional basketball league in North America. It consists of 30 teams, 29 from the United States and one from Canada. It is played in a league and playoffs format. The NBA finals are the championship series between the winners of the two conferences (Western & Eastern). The winner of the NBA finals lifts the Larry O’Brien Championship trophy. However, on some occasions, the winning teams give commemorative rings to their players for winning the championship. These rings are now a sign of price and greatness. Here we are with a list of players with most NBA rings.

Bill Russell

Bill Russell is a former basketball player who played for Boston Celtics throughout his basketball career. In his 13-year-old NBA career, he has managed to win a whopping 11 NBA titles. He is also a five-time NBA MVP and 12-time All-Star. He is tied with Henri Richard of NHL for most national championships won. As a coach, he has coached Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, and Sacramento Kings.

Sam Jones

NBA Rings – 10

Sam Jones was also part of the golden period of the Boston Celtics that won eight consecutive NBA titles. He has also played for Boston his entire career. He is also a five-time NBA All-Star. His jersey number 24 is retired by Boston Celtics. After his playing career, he had a small stint in coaching as he was the assistant coach at New Orleans Jazz.

Tom Heinsohn

The former Celtics power forward won eight NBA Championships with Boston and spent his entire career at the same time. Not just this, he also coached Boston from 1969 to 1978. He is a six-time NBA All-Star and his jersey number 15 has been retired by Boston.

 K.C. Jones

K.C. Jones was a former Celtics player who played for nine years as a professional and won eight NBA titles. His jersey number 24 was retired by Boston and number 4 by his NCAA team San Fransico Dons. He is also known for his brilliant coaching stint. He has won two NBA titles as an assistant coach and two as a head coach. He is also a five-time NBA All-Star head coach. 

Satch Sanders

NBA Rings – 8

Sanders played 13 seasons as a player in NBA for Boston Celtics and won eight NBA Championships in the process. In 1969, he made it to NBA All-Defensive second team. His jersey number 16 is retired by Boston Celtics. After retiring as a player, he became Celtics’ assistant coach, later becoming their head coach for a season. He was also the head coach of Harvard Crimson for four years. 

John Havlicek

Havlicek spent 16 years of his professional career with Boston and won eight NBA Championships in the process. In the 1974 NBA Finals, he was named the finals MVP. He is a 13-time NBA All-Star, four-time All NBA First Team, seven-time All NBA Second Team, 5-time All NBA Defensive First Team, 3time All NBA Defensive Second Time, NBA All-Rookie First Team. He has also won the NCAA Championship in 1960 with Ohio State Buckeyes.
