UFC Commentator Michael Bisping Makes a Massive Prediction on Leon Edwards’ Odds in a Fight Against Kamaru Usman

UFC commentator Michael Bisping spoke out on the looming welterweight title fight between Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards. Following a string of back-to-back rematches, Usman will now defend his belt in another rematch that is over five years in the making.

‘Rocky’ Edwards has gone undefeated since losing to Kamaru Usman in 2015 and the only blemish on his record is a NC to Belal Muhammad that came via an accidental eye poke. Edwards is now finally set to cash in on an opportunity to face his rival and claim the welterweight strap for himself.

Bisping believes Leon Edwards is going to give Kamaru Usman his ‘toughest fight’

According to ‘The Count’, Leon Edwards possesses all the necessary tools to win out the day over Usman. Alongside crisp striking and inventive entry angles, Edwards’ takedown defense is nothing to scoff at.

Putting all these factors together, Michael Bisping believes Usman is in for a tough night at the office. However, he also recognized that since Edwards was rocked by Nate Diaz in the fifth round, the same can easily happen at the hands of ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’.

“I mean, Usman is the pound-for-pound number one, but Leon Edwards is probably going to give him the toughest fight he’s had in a very long time.”

“Of course, I am rooting for Leon as a fellow Brit, and I think he’s got a really, really good chance. It is not going to be easy.”

“Leon needs to be 100% focussed in his fight. Because one thing to be sure, if Kamaru Usman can catch Leon the way that Nate Diaz did, then, of course, he has the power to knock him out. He knocked out Masvidal, stopped Gilbert Burns, he has such a tremendous amount of power… So, Leon’s going to have to be perfect.” [h/t bjpenn.com]

Leon Edwards would become only the second fighter to win a UFC championship as an Englishman, a feat ironically secured by none other than Michael Bisping himself. ‘Rocky’ has the tools to give any top fighter plenty of problems if he puts everything together in a meaningful way.
