Over the past few years, the Phoenix Suns have undergone a major overhaul that has seen them become competitive again. For the first time since 1993, the Suns reached the NBA finals in 2021, where they fell short against the Bucks. Powering the Suns team are the likes of Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton. 

Ayton was the first overall pick in the 2018 draft and he was selected by the Phoenix Suns themselves. Prior to that, Ayton played a year of basketball at the University of Arizona before declaring for the draft. Going into that year’s draft, it was a given that Ayton would be the top pick for sure. Ayton was born in Nassau, Bahamas. He moved to San Diego, California when he was a teenager to play basketball. It is safe to say that the move has worked out really well for him.

In 2021, after almost three decades, the Phoenix Suns played in an NBA final. This was due to the efforts of Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton among others. Although they did not win, the Suns put on a strong performance.
