Top Five Things You Did Not Know About Lakers Star Patrick Beverley
The Los Angeles Lakers’ Patrick Beverley, a guard, has developed into one of the NBA’s hardest and most tenacious defenders. Although Beverley’s path to the league was unexpected, it helped to mold him into the legendary player he is today. Prior to spending three and a half seasons abroad in Russia, Ukraine, and Greece, he played collegiate basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Beverley joined the Houston Rockets in January 2013.
Patrick Beverley was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in June 2017. He was first dealt by the Clippers to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2021. Nine days later, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves first moved him to the Utah Jazz in July 2022, and then in August 2022, he was sent to the Lakers.

To keep him off the turbulent streets of his area, Lisa Beverley, his mom, got him interested in every sport, from baseball to karate to basketball from an early age. Patrick Beverley was a natural at basketball. He and his mother would practice on the court in the local park for hours in the chilly weather.

Father absent in childhood due to drug abuse
Beverley’s father battled drug addiction during most of Beverley’s youth. Patrick’s primary male role model, Dexter, who lived with Lisa, was later fatally murdered. Dexter was Patrick’s live-in lover. Beverley frequently slept outside of his house as a small child, including at hotels and in the backseat of his mother’s car.
Nickname – “Mr. 94 Feet”
One of the league’s most fierce and combative guards is Beverley. Mr. 94 Feet has justifiably earned the moniker “Mr. 94 Feet” thanks to his tireless hustling on the court and strong work ethic. Patrick Beverley frequently protects the top players on the opposition’s teams.

Given that he plays basketball, this may seem crazy for Patrick Beverley, but during his pregame warm-up, he utilizes both a tennis ball and a basketball and makes it look simple.

The 6’1″ point guard repeatedly passed a tennis ball back to a Rockets staff member while dribbling a basketball through his legs. It’s reasonable to assume that Patrick Beverley can absolutely become a juggler if his basketball career doesn’t pan out.
First $40 Million contract came at age of 30
Beverley had been working toward this paycheck for years, and now was the day when his labor of love truly paid off.
Free agent guard Patrick Beverley has agreed to a three-year, $40M deal to stay with the Clippers, his agent @KB_Sports tells ESPN.
