Titans Coach Cries His Heart Out With Center Ben Jones For ‘Finding Ways’ After Win Over Colts

The Tennessee Titans swept their division rivals for the second time in a row by defeating the Indianapolis Colts 19-10 on Sunday thanks to Andrew Adams’ 76-yard interception return for his first career pick-6. When the Titans had to settle for a field goal late in the first quarter, center Ben Jones was injured, but he later recovered. In the second quarter, Titans defensive back Joshua Kalu was injured while returning a kickoff.

After the Tennessee Titans defeated the Indianapolis Colts 19-10 on Sunday, coach Mike Vrabel hugged center, Ben Jones, as he exited the field. Jones was still able to maneuver a sizable group of players after he was wounded as Derrick Henry carried the ball to maintain a drive at midfield.

Mike Vrabel hugs Ben Jones in an emotional moment after win over Colts

The biggest football fan you can find is Mike Vrabel. He genuinely loves football and lives for it. So he has experienced sobbing over football games. He started crying on Sunday after witnessing his center, Ben Jones, perform well while being physically destroyed. Every aspect of Jones’ body was pained on Sunday, but he fought through it and refused to leave.

Ben Jones had to be examined on the field, missed a play because of a procedure, and then returned. He is as traditional as they come. Vrabel stated on Monday that he admires athletes like Jones who give their bodies in service to the club.

Vrabel said: “I don’t think people realize … the toll that this game takes and what it can give you, but also what it can take away from you,” Vrabel said. “They put a lot in and they compete and it’s violent. I’ve just really got a lot of respect for the majority of these guys that are finding ways no matter what each and every week. They’re far less than 100%, during the game. Things come up and they get evaluated and you can just tell that it means a lot to them.”

However, a second video of the encounter shows Vrabel wiping tears from his eyes and saying: “I’ve never seen anything like it” and “I love you like my own.” Vrabel refused to divulge what was discussed between him and Jones.

The players are willing to run through a wall for Vrabel despite his high expectations of them. On Sunday, the Titans will be in Houston.
