‘This Vagabond has Become a Shameless Ba*tard’- Deiveson Figueiredo’s Former Manager Goes on an All-Time Epic Rant About Flyweight Champion

The always outspoken MMA manager, Wallid Ismail, has turned on his former fighter Deiveson Figueiredo after the two have definitively parted ways. ‘Deus de Guerra’ walked away from their professional alliance and he’s cited Ismail as not taking his due diligence with certain matters since winning the belt.

Figueiredo has openly criticized the UFC for setting up an interim title fight at UFC 277 between Brandon Moreno and Kai-Kara France, despite the fact that he is the champion. Per the Brazilian flyweight champion, Ismail’s handling of the matter left a lot to be desired, however, Wallid Ismail begs to differ.

Ismail went on record saying that he informed the UFC brass about Deiveson’s hand injury that has promised to keep him out of action for a while. Ismail views Figueiredo’s public comments about him as a way to deflect blame for the way things have turned out, and he labeled this a ‘lack of character’ in ‘Deus de Guerra’.

“From the beginning, I didn’t want to speak out so as not to expose Deiveson,” Ismail told Sherdog. “I had informed Deiveson that the UFC would [create] the interim belt if he couldn’t fight until July. The UFC was aware that he was injured. I have conversations with matchmakers informing [them] about the injury.”

“He wants to look for someone to blame for his wrong decisions. I’m just speaking out because, although he apologized to me for lying that he didn’t know about the interim belt, now he’s back to lying, that I hadn’t warned the UFC about his injury. That’s a lack of character.” [h/t mmafighting.com]

Wallid Ismail truly laid it on his former fighter and didn’t shy away from flinging expletives in Deiveson Figueiredo’s direction. It is abundantly clear that their relationship seems to have reached beyond a point of repair at this stage.

“This vagabond has become a shameless bastard,” Ismail said. “First, he lied saying that I hadn’t warned him about the interim belt [the bastard told me he didn’t care]. The bastard apologized to me for lying. Now he’s telling another lie. You’re very naughty, Deiveson. I told the UFC that he was injured and could only fight in October. This bastard asked me to say that.”
