Teams With the Most Super Bowl Losses in History

The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), pitting the champions of the NFL’s two conferences (AFC and NFC) against each other. It’s a highly watched, nationally televised sports event capable of attracting upwards of 100 million viewers. However, when there’s a winner, there has to be a loser. It’s unfortunate when your team works to get into the coveted championship game, just to not be able to make that one stretch. Here’s a list of teams with the most Super Bowl losses:

New England Patriots

The Patriots have a record 11 appearances in the Super Bowl. With 6 wins, they have 5 losses, tied for the most losses in the Super Bowl. Two of the losses came before 2000, and the other three are from the Tom-Brady led roster. Their most recent Super Bowl loss was in 2018 during Super Bowl LII, when the Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
