Rumors: WWE Wanting To Bring In Jason Kelce Ahead Of WrestleMania 40

Prior to WrestleMania 40, which will take place at the Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Saturday and Sunday, WWE has reportedly contacted Kelce, according to a story published by Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful on Tuesday.

Before he retired this month, Kelce played for the Eagles for 13 years, making him a revered figure in Philadelphia.

Celebrity engagement at WrestleMania dates back to the event’s inception in 1985, when Mr. T, Muhammad Ali, Cyndi Lauper, and Liberace were among the attendees.

According to a Fightful story on Tuesday, WWE has gotten in touch with the retired offensive lineman and Eagles star ahead of the two-day event at Lincoln Financial Field on April 7-8.

The 36-year-old Kelce played all 13 of his NFL seasons for the Eagles before declaring he was hanging up his boots after the club missed out on the Super Bowl the previous two seasons and lost to the Buccaneers in the wild-card round this past season.

Watching brother Travis and the Chiefs defeat the Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs en route to their second consecutive Super Bowl title, Kelce went naked in the spectators while sipping a beer.

Although it’s unknown what Jason Kelce would perform at WrestleMania if a deal works out, other athletes to feature on the shot include Rob Gronkowski, Ronda Rousey, Pete Rose, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Using celebrities from other media in matches or segments has been a tried-and-true strategy used by WWE to make WrestleMania as spectacular as possible.

The presence of Philadelphia’s own Meek Mill at WrestleMania has already been confirmed, and famous rapper Lil Wayne also announced his appearance on Monday night’s Raw show.

It’s unknown what Kelce would do if he showed up at WrestleMania, but it would be a huge win for WWE.
