Rapper Drake Loses $400,000 On A Bet: How much Did He Make By Betting Last Year?

Drake has lost a $400,000 wager after Jake Paul’s competitor Tommy Fury defeated him in a boxing match.

The long-time rivalry between the YouTube sensation and Fury might eventually be resolved in a lucrative battle in Saudi Arabia with significant financial implications for both competitors. It was a crucial night for the influencer who sought to establish himself against Fury, who has significantly more ring experience, in what was possibly the hardest test of his fighting career.

Drake, a Canadian hip-hop singer, placed a further massive $400,000 wager on Paul winning the fight before it started. And the ‘Problem Child’ was unable to deliver on the night for the Canadian hip-hop artist falling to a narrow split decision defeat with Fury given the edge on the scorecards.

Rapper Drake Loses $400,000 On A Bet: How much Did He Make By Betting Last Year?

Drake’s recent combat sports betting campaign has been a mixed bag of luck; prior to this wager, he had primarily gambled on UFC fights. He placed his first wager on Colby Covington in their grudge match, but Covington won after raising his hand on a terrible betting day for the Canadian.

After supporting American Justin Gaethje to unseat Charles Oliveira as the UFC lightweight champion, but Gaethje was choked out last year, his bad luck only got worse. In spite of his lack of success, Drake eventually changed his luck by winning a $1 million wager on Israel Adesanya, who fought Jarod Cannonier to defend his middleweight championship.

After winning another seven-figure wager on the British duo Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann at UFC London in March, Drake’s winning streak then continued. The Liverpudlian couple followed Paul in asking Drake for something in return for winning him the cash; as a reward, they received lavish Rolex watches.

His ability to back the wrong horse is not even always linked to betting. Teams or individuals that have been pictured with Drake shortly before a major sporting event or period have often gone on to lose.

Luckily for him he is able to make lots of money from his own career, otherwise he would be at risk of going broke.

He won his wager of 1.04 million pounds on Super Bowl LVI but lost 228,000 pounds on UFC 272 since he backed Jorge Masvidal to win. He lost 66,000 pounds after betting on Duke to defeat UNC in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

He bet on the Dallas Mavericks, the Calgary Flames, and the New York Rangers in a three-team parlay and earned 1.9 million pounds. Nevertheless, just previously, he had dropped 335,000 pounds on a different one.

But, he was right in that the Golden State Warriors won the Western Conference, taking home 664,000 pounds. However in order to win the Spanish Grand Prix, he lost 190,000 on Charles Leclerc.
