QB Trevor Lawrence Injury History: Unhurt Streak Continues

Trevor Lawrence is unquestionably tough. The quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars was able to suit up and play in Week 14 despite sustaining an ankle injury two weeks prior.

QB Trevor Lawrence Injury History: Unhurt Streak Continues

With a seemingly significant ankle injury, Lawrence had to be assisted off the field and into the locker room during the Jaguars’ Week 13 defeat to the Bengals on “Monday Night Football.” Many at the time worried that he could have had an injury that would end his season, or at the very least, prevent Jacksonville from finishing the season.

But a new week brings a new set of difficulties, and some are unsure if Lawrence will be ready for the demanding Week 15 clash against the Baltimore Ravens due to the wear and strain of another game.

But Lawrence managed to return to action six days after sustaining the injury. Even more amazing, he rushed for eight yards and a touchdown despite the injury. He appeared no worse for wear, completing 22 of 29 throws for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

Naturally, the NFL community was enthralled by Lawrence’s ability to recover swiftly from a problematic injury. The 6’6″ quarterback has seldom missed a game in the NFL, and when he has, it hasn’t been due to an injury, thus it has placed his durability under scrutiny.

If nothing unexpected happens, Lawrence will be prepared for his team’s Week 15 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. The Jaguars want to snap a two-game losing run and guarantee a spot in the postseason this year.

With one of the AFC’s hotter clubs on their schedule, Lawrence and company will have their job cut out for them. The NFL’s co-best record belongs to the Ravens, who play strong defense and offense. Odell Beckham Jr., Lamar Jackson, and Zay Flowers are always a threat to opposing defenses, so the Jaguars will need to come up with a strategy to keep them from going wild.

He had sustained a high ankle sprain, which usually results in most athletes losing at least some time to recuperate, according to an MRI that would subsequently be obtained.

Lawrence appeared to be headed for another successful performance against the Ravens in Week 15, but he beat the odds last Sunday by manning his usual post behind center for the Jaguars.

Despite being on the injury report earlier this week, Lawrence was able to get through those sessions at his regular workload.
