Patriots’ TE Jonnu Smith gushes over impressive personality and intangibles of QB Mac Jones

As we speed into the NFL 2022 season, New England Patriots members continue to praise quarterback Mac Jones. On Monday, tight end Jonnu Smith joined the chorus applauding the rookie quarterback’s mental approach on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.

Mac Jones impressing everyone in the NFL

The New England Patriots were propelled to the postseason in 2021 by Mac Jones, who had an impressive rookie campaign. He finished 13th among all quarterbacks in the National Football League and had the most passing yards (3,801) of any rookie quarterback.

Jones had two 300-yard outings, eight games with two or more touchdown passes and established rookie marks for passing yards and touchdowns (22) with the Patriots. In his first Pro Bowl, he led the AFC to a 41-35 triumph.

Jones has had a fantastic offseason. The 6-foot-3, 217-pound player gained muscle, lost weight, and improved his grasp of the New England attack. His colleagues are enthusiastic about this season since he has grown into a more outspoken leader. The Patriots’ tight end Jonnu Smith was highlighted on Good Morning Football on Monday. He claimed that Jones “has so much dog in him” and “has so much skill,” which amazes him.

Smith praised the QB, saying, “Honestly, dude, just the pace he can flip it on.” “To be honest, Mac is undoubtedly one of the silliest players in the locker room. But as he enters that area, he takes on a completely new persona. He simply has such talent and character. He becomes a whole different person once he turns the switch. When the moment comes, some males don’t know how to properly cut it on and off. He is really young. He is composed. He carries himself with a little swagger, guy. He’s giving us passes, which is good. I like that man.”

During the offseason, Jones practised throwing with Tom Brady’s instructor. With wide receivers Kendrick Bourne, DeVante Parker, Nelson Agholor, and Jakobi Meyers, he has developed a relationship. The two-time College Football Playoff National Champion, a former Alabama football player, is prepared to go on. With Jones at the helm, New England is prepared to demonstrate that it still rules the AFC East.

Mac Jones showed consistency as a leader in the huddle during his first season. Pats teammates have gushed about the signal-caller assuming a greater leadership role as the club enters Year 2. The Pats are an intriguing club in a crowded AFC thanks to a combination of seasoned veterans and developing young talent. Even though Bill Belichick’s squad lacks the star power of other teams, the whole roster is made up of top-notch athletes.
